In Bill Koch's blog today, Mick said that he gave the players Monday off and made Tuesday practice fun, so that the players wouldn't have to constantly handle the pressure they are facing right now. I don't know how much this will affect the X's and O's, but recently, nobody looks like they are having fun. I like this, these guys just need to go out, scrap, and have fun. I have noticed how there is a lack of intensity that this team cannot afford to not have. Early in the year, we were diving for loose balls and making hustle plays. Recently, everyone seems lethargic and motionless. Even if we don't shoot well, don't have good offense, etc., this doesn't require anything else but pure effort and wanting it more. We are a soft team, we need hustle players to make up for what we lack.

If I were MIck I would have installed especially large baskets as well so they could make a shot and start to feel all warm and fuzzy again.

IN reality, this seems to be a good move. Heck, at least it is different. They had to try something different.

I agree. UK played dodge ball at practice last week to loosen things up after getting destroyed by Tennessee. They responded with their best win of the season, an OT win over Missouri.

This is not uncommon

I recall a D3 powerhouse lost its first regular season game in 175 attempts. The following practice they had a chipping contest (golf) to loosen the tension and ease the frustration. That team went on to win a National Title. NBD!

If this team played dodge ball, no one would ever be out...Sorry couldn't resist. I think this is good. This team looks defeated. Cash looks like he's forgotten how to play his game. We need a renewed energy. While the losing streak and the last ten games or so have been rough, Sunday was the only game that we really didn't show up or at least have a chance to win in the final minutes. The UConn game is a must win in my opinion. The post-season starts at tip on Saturday. Everything that has happened prior to then is in the past.
