Who cries more about the refs then Cronin?

First thing out of his mouth in the post game is about the refs. Then continues to blame the refs through out.

Nothing about his team turnovers, nothing about getting key rebounds, nothing about not having a player step up and close out a game. It's all about the refs. It's a on going them with him this year. Throws his players under the bus and blames the refs!

Funny thing is after last game, no crying about the refs and stated his team was back to being an elite defensive team in the country.

Lose today, and blames everyone but his self. Embarrassing in every sense of the word.

Why does it have to be Div.1? There are great coaching prospects all over the college basketball landscape. Do your due dilligence and go find one just like we did when we found Huggs. This type of thing goes on all the time.

I truly think that as of right now getting rid of Mick would hurt the program. First it will kill recruiting, no big players will want to come here if we fired our coach and hired a no name coach. The best path we could go would be hiring a young offensively minded assistant coach. Let Mick continue to coach the kids with the strong defense and toughness that he has been for so many years, but let the offensively minded coach teach them to play offense. Similar to a football offensive coordinator, let them be in charge of the offensive duties of the game. Mick will still make all the calls and be the one to recruit, but having a smart offensive coach to help these kids in practice could be big. Bohn is not going to fire Mick, but making some other coaching changes and additions shouldn't be out of the question. The recent late game losses can't be blamed all on Mick, our players are just missing the big opportunities to win close games.

Xavier, Butler, VCU, Iowa St., etc. and many more have replaced coaches many times and keep on rolling. It happens all the time. If the coach isn't very good, holding on to him forever will definitely kill the program. You're watching it live and in color unfolding in front of your eyes right now.

What top recruit would look at Mick and say "I want to play for THAT guy!"? Add on how bad the team has looked this year and the poor coaching in every close game so far. It's hard to say getting a new coach would hurt that bad. It's not exactly as if the types of recruits he gets aren't kids who just about anyone could get. Uconn got a new coach and won it all. A bit extreme, but just saying.

Very extreme and not worth comparing. Assistant coach under hall of fame head coach, star alumni athlete and ex-nba player. Nothing but things most recruits would love to play for. Never mind the the championships they recently won before that

Thank God Cumberland already signed. He's stuck now. Hopefully he never had NBA dreams. He'll ride the bench next year if his defense isn't AMAZING.

I just wish fans would let the season play out. I'm not going to lobby for Cronin but we still have kids on the team...some seniors...playing for something. Don't undermine that...it can be done later on if things continue the way they are.

I may even lead the charge...but I won't do it now.

One thing I'll never do is blame or call out players...(maybe in the heat of the game)...they are playing extremely hard. I will 100% put the blame on Mick. He has done an awful job this season with both his in game coaching and substitutions. He always tries to match what the other team is doing. He embodies short man syndrome. I'm 12 games away from being completely done with him. He better hope the team makes a run in the tournament if they get in. The optimism I had (even after the first Temple game) is completely gone. I expected us to rebound and beat SMU. I expected us to win this game also. The style of play I was optimistic about has disappeared. I can't believe this is the same team we saw earlier.

Jake if your dissatisfied with Cronin and want him gone that's fine. But expecting kids to be proficient on both ends of the floor is not a good reason.

Cronin will be here next year unless ticket sales take a nose dive or boosters quit donating money. I would be very surprised if he isn't here at least through next year.

Cronin is not going anywhere, bohn is very patient look at tubberville if he keeps him micks go to do a lot worse to get the boot (he has been to 5 straight ncaas and that's enough for bohn), but he needs to adapt as many posters have said. It might be time to change up his staff tho, bring some energy some guys who can relate and hire them on assistants. Nick van exel would be the greatest pick up out there, he would do wonders with our guards, and recruits would love to play for him

I highly doubt that NVE would ever come on as Cronin's assistant. He'd be more of a head coaching candidate I think.

Mick is 12-15 in post season games (Conference tournaments, NCAA Tournament, NIT, CBI). He has one Sweet 16 appearance and 1 conference tournament final appearance.

Mick changed his coaching style due to his health. I think the players are adjusting. I wish I knew why there was such a letdown during winter break, but clearly the players heads were elsewhere. I could not believe we lost @ home to Temple & Tulsa the way we did, but it happened. We will find out who this team is in the next couple weeks.

We lost to Tulsa?

if his health is getting in the way of his coaching style then he needs to step away from the game. pretty sure hes banked enough money to retire comfortably.

Nothing wrong with his health. We are about 6 points away from being 19-2. That is against some very good teams. A break here or there and we would be ranked talking about seeding.
