JJ Mania

One of my favorite plays from the last game was when JJ did the spin move and then dunked so fast the defender was still standing in the original spot and then JJ ran down the court with a shit eating grin.

I am telling you...I think this kid has just NOW realized his full potential and imapact. Potential I didn't even think he had. In fact I predict we see games where he over asserts himself (too confident) rather than the opposite. It will be a delicate balance to get it right by end of season for both JJ and SK.

I was reading a Cronin analogy from a Dehner article where Cronin gave as much praise as I have ever seen him give one player. He mentioned a few things but it was his analogy to K-Mart and how his confidence grew so quickly he became an unstoppable force. Believe me I am not equating JJ with K-Mart but the analogy works.

JJ is getting a lot of press, cheers at the game, and his coach is gushing. He's growing more and more comfortable in the low post role...one he is basically only a third of a season into with surprising results. He will learn a couple more tricks by the end of the season. He probably learned a few things agains X and NM. He realizes right now that he can not only change a game but he can also be THE guy who can take it over if necessary. That feeling can be pretty intoxicating.

JJ has been the AAC Player of the Week for two weeks straight. He is arguably coming off his best game of the year against SMU...if he can come up with a nice performance at Memphis he could make it a 3 peat. SK has been a 4 time honorable mention...not sure if he's made it higher.

I never saw this coming nor had I FULLY realized JUST how well JJ has been playing. Back to back to back CONFERENCE player of the week would be a clear indication this is not an anomaly...and that our Koolaid is not spiked with UC love punch.

I would have never dreamed we would have a two time POW not named SK this early in the season. That's exciting!!!!!

In 2011, Tuberville was elected second vice president of the American Football Coaches Association. According to AFCA tradition, he will move up to first vice president in 2012 and president in 2013.[2]

With CTT being president, hopefully that bodes well when the next realignment shift takes place.

What if he was hired for 2 things:
-To get boosters to fund Nippert expansion - Could Lyle get this done?
-Get us to a P5

He already accomplished one huge goal, if he gets the other, I don't think many will complain with the 9 wins he got this year.

From 2000-2007 he finished no worse than 3rd in the SEC

Good points, I hope that we have consistency above all else. 8-9 wins every year and a move to a power conference would be great. Even if he can't take us to the next level, it won't matter too much, as he is getting up there in age. Like you said, definitely doesn't hurt to take a shot at a coach that could potentially take us further than any other coach that UC could've realistically attained.
