Lance Stephenson

Indiana fans know and love their basketball. I am very happy that Lance was drafted into a great situation with Larry Legend and the Pacers. I feel like if he went one pick earlier to the Knicks, he would be out of the league. Now he is playing like an All-Star. Simply amazing.

I agree, Indiana seems a perfect fit for him.

I currently lived in Indy, and I have been watching a lot of the Pacers this year. You are right David; Pacer fans absolutely love Lance Stephenson. He brings so much energy and has really evolved as a player. Pacer fans are scared they will not be able to afford him as this is a contract year. I really hope they can keep him.

Interesting. I'd like to see him stay there just because its so close to here.

I know he always played hard and wants to win and put up stats, but I'd like to hope Mick had a little something to do with the controlled energy he has displayed. The NBA is a different game than college. Other than the faster pace the talent is obviously just more tremendous. My wife commented, "Man, they make alot of shots." But I think there's more heart and effort in college, especially in the regular season. Lance easily was playing the hardest out there and that is what fans will always notice. He drew a number of offensive fouls as well as he was pissing off his defenders by taking it to them on the other end and they tried to match it and ended up just lunging into him.

Same. I've actually been following the Pacers a lot this year. Call me a bandwagon fan, but they are the closest professional basketball that we have. I also just love seeing Lance succeed. He may have been a one and done but his success really, really helps the program. I believe he still comes by UC too, when he gets the chance. I got his auto at FTA a year-ish ago at a public UC practice. He was just hanging out with SK.

Always liked Lance. Good to see him develop into an all-star. Really seems to have worked hard and now looks like he is having more fun than anyone else on the court.

Can't grasp how he was left off the team. Makes no sense.

Heard someone say that coaches determine the reserves and that Lance isn't really liked for his showing off and his in-your-face way he plays ball. I didn't know who the analyst was, but he was predicting him not to make the roster and that being a big reason.

I might be wrong but I think Lance has matured a lot. After making that choking hang gesture to LeBron a couple years ago, he's gotten pretty brutally fouled in a lot of games and just gets right back up (i.e. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9zrGCPEUtvk). I don't follow the NBA much so I could be off-base, but I haven't seen anything that makes him look like a cocky show-off.

The game I went to he was very in the face of the guy defending him and that he was defending. It's his style, he grew up playing at Rucker. FWIW, I don't know if the statement has merits, I just heard an analysts say it.

I believe that. He plays extremely cocky to the point where Vogel has to talk to him about it. It's all in good fun though he's not trying to start anything with other players.

Lance had 7 points, 13 rebounds and 8 assists in his debut tonight. Kemba hit a 3 to tie in regulation and dropped a jumper at the top of the key to win the game ala Pitt vs UConn.

That dunk was nasty pants. Reminded me when Lance posterized guy right before halftime at a UC game. He makes it look so effortlessly.

Remember when he posterized someone from X during the Shootout? It's on YouTube somewhere. One of my favorite vids.

EDIT: I'm thinking of his crossover. He had one against X that buckled the defender's knees and made him look so silly.

I'm glad Lance was ready for the opener...he missed some preseason with a groin pull. And the Hornets were down 15 after 3. The Hornets could be a top 4 team in the east. I'm excited for Lance. He is going to have a great year.
