I think Gary is better than Tre with his back to the basket but Tre might be better at facing up. He's got a smooth shot. In terms of rebounds and blocks I think they are similar. They are both good passers too. Not sure about defense yet...I am sure Gary knows a little more about the scheme but Tre has been in the system for 2 years now...so hopefully he's adequate. Gary might be better at defending post up...but Tre is pretty good with help D and blocks.

Tre Scott is good

Gary Clark is great

Gary Clark is great

I am not advocating Scott to take over for Clark in any way. I have just been looking from a stat perspective so far this year. From that perspective it might be the other way around. Just saying...

If we can keep Gary fresh...which IMO is no more than 25 minutes since he gets winded a lot and jogs down the court sometimes...we might be better off. Scott is more than capable of filling in. His stats are VERY good so far in the time he has played. He gets up the court about as fast as our guards. He's doing all the little things right like low turnovers, rebounding well, not fouling a lot, blocking well, scoring when he has the opportunity (good %), good passer, etc.

Gary is our guy...but I don't think we lose a lot when Scott is in the game.

I am much more concerned with who is going to step up at the SG position.

Last year Clark had the lowest FG attempts per 40 minutes on the team. This year he is second to last to Jenifer. The problem I have with this is that he touches the ball a lot. He's a stat sheet filler but if he wants to be a player we can't leave off the court he has to be more aggressive with his touches. Scott can do most of the little things Clark does. I hope Gary comes back a man possessed! If he's more aggressive...it will open up the game for other players besides himself. He's a great passer. If he doesn't assert himself... He's not much better than Scott.

You guys are completely insane by even hinting Scott is on the same level as Gary. Grow up fellas, not even close.

He isn't. But Clark has to play way better than he has so far. Very disappointing so far this year. Imagine this team so far if him and Caupain were playing to their level.

What are you basing this on? I have said several times I would rather have Clark in there but Scott has so far out paced him against the same teams in most stats. I can make a very good case for Clark but I'm more interested in yours. To suggest they are on completely different levels may not be based in reality.

Did u watch last game or look at the state sheet?

i saw scott play well against an awful team in a blowout. i'm not interested in drawing vast conclusions from that.

Did you watch the rest of his games?

Because before the last game he lead Clark in every per 40 minute statistical category except steals and assists. Now he leads assists too.

I'm not arguing he should start ... just trying to figure out why He's not equal to the task.

Scott has played 70 career minutes. And all against bad teams (I don't think he got in the RI game). Why are you using per 40 minute stats on him? They're pretty meaningless at this point. I hope he does well but @Iowa State is a whole different ballgame.

What other stat should I use? Per game?
