Mick a Candidate for UNLV?

I wonder if they took him to the chicken ranch. You used to be able to catch a chopper up the street from the Tropicana out to the ranch in the old days. Lol!!! Not that I would ever have done that. I'm Catholic for goodness sake.

One thing still doesn't add up...if this was all calculated by Cronin to use leverage to get the ball rolling on some of his issues, why did he skip out on the radio show last minute?

So, I was curious about this so I did a little research. Here is approximately how much it costs per hour to have a chartered plane:

Some other examples of prices come from Avinode, which gathers a large amount of data on the charter marketplace. Their recent data shows the average price per hour including taxi rate + fuel surcharges, for various aircraft including:

Midsize Jets

Citation X $4,897
Hawker 800 $3,763
Learjet 60 $3,305
Heavy Jets

Falcon 900 $6,085
Gulfstream IV $5,632
Challenger 604 $5,023

So, based on this, and if you assume 4 hours round trip for a recruiting trip, and assuming no cost for waiting around which probably isn't true, Mick spent $100,000 on chartered flights, or 5 recruiting trips. Not much in the grand scheme of recruiting trips.

I can guarantee you UC isn't paying those types of rates. But thanks for the research, very insightful.

The CIA set that up. It's a radio show, He has missed them before. He may of had other personal plans going on. Recruiting, commitments a number of things, he may have been reacting to UNLV's request. What was going to happen at he radio show?

Then why did you compare the flights to calipari? It's ridiculous to accept the facts that support your agenda and reject the ones that discount it.
the point I was making was Calipari has far more access. Wasn't trying to be a smart ass. Calipari out recruits the whole country. really don't know what your asking. 100'000 dollars is not a lot to spend on a plane in a year. If your point is Mick could spend the same amount and not get the guys Cal does. I'll agree with you.

Because that's exactly what Waite and many others on this board are trying to do, support an agenda, regardless of the facts.

People say things like Mick wants an upgrade to facilities but never explain what that means. People say things like Mick needs access to private jets when the truth is he already has access.

To be fair to Mick, I've never actually heard these complaints come out of Mick's mouth. These are all just things people speculate about. It's not fair for others on the anti-Mick side to say he is "whining" about these things because that's simply not true. Mick may have mentioned in the past that having more access to a jet would help but he has the right to make that statement. Everyone knows that a new arena is needed and the University is working to make that happen.

The truth is that things aren't nearly as bad for Mick here at UC as the "speculators" on this board over the last few days would lead you to believe. These items are certainly not the one thing standing between Mick's current results as head coach and us being a team that realistically starts to compete for Final 4's. Eventually all the issues that do exist will be addressed and I wouldn't expect them to make much impact if any at all on the success of our program. Jacob pretty much summed that up for us is an earlier post.

It's amazing how many people make up half truths and try to spin them off as facts.......there's so much misinformation on this board.

By the way I have no agenda. I have a preference that Mick remain as coach of the cats it is not a agenda. It's my opinion he does a good job and runs a nice program. If he does something that changes my mind I'll let you know.

Just weird he'd skip the season recap show when everyone thought he was going to show up. Makes it seem like the UNLV stuff is/was more real than him just using leverage without actually planning on going anywhere.

jake I have no idea and any answer I give you would be pure speculation.

Mick's inability to make up his mind has now caused the website the crash.......that's strike 3.......he's outta here!!

1,999.....teeing it up for you Jacob
