Mick a Candidate for UNLV?

Oh it's out there by coaches and media about how Mick has been treated.

I believe he gets treated like any coach would who produces the results he has year over year. People think we owe him something because he is from cincy. We don't, he has a job to do and needs to do it better. If he didn't think he had the resources here he shouldn't have signed a 7 year extension.

And FYI, the Vegas guys I listen to are hardcore. They go off on how bad the college product is, and even mention players having to look to the sideline on every possession. They'd eat Cronin alive at the first sign of trouble. Cincinnati is not unique in its appetite for success.

@GoodmanESPN
UNLV making a strong push for Cincinnati’s Mick Cronin. Been told UNLV could pay in the $3 million range, plus no state tax.

The media in Cincinnati has treated Mick with kid gloves. He'd get eaten alive in Vegas. Good luck to him.

Certainly your entitled to your opinion but your wrong. If he was at another school and produced 6 straight tourney runs he would not be treated this way. How about if he was promised the resources and they reneged on their promise? I'm with you I hope Mick leaves. I really do. I've always enjoyed Vegas and enjoyed their team when I lived out west. I don't think Mick will ever be excepted here for what he is, a very good young coach capable of building a very good program. Time to move on!!!!

And in turn, we fans fight among ourselves.

At what point can the majority be heard in a positive way? Why is the negative few the loudest cries being taken seriously?

The majority are being heard. That's why this is happening. Problem is, there are only a few of the majority that post on this site...so the majority is the minority here.

Let's hope he leaves. For all you Mick supporters aren't you the slightest bit annoyed he's even entertaining other offers??? He makes 2.2 mill/year at his alma matter to deliver lackluster results and now he's entertaining other offers?? I guess love is blind.

Could you please describe lackluster results for us? I'm just curious. I'd say that if UC's results are lackluster there are many teams out there that would be thrilled with lackluster.

I'm just not sure what everyone expects to happen with the hand that this team has been dealt.

Cronin is 3-8 in conference/NCAA tournament games in the last 4 years. If UNLV pays him $3M, it is what it is. Again, I'd prefer he stay bc I like our players, but at some point it just isn't worth it. No need to desperately beg. The prospect of hiring a new coach makes me nervous, another reason why I'd prefer Cronin stay...but what can you do if they break the bank for him?

They would love him in Vegas. He'd win out there and they would appreciate his effort. Come on man your much better then that. If he wins at the pace he has here they would build him a statue.

Lol. Waite, it isn't always rainbows and unicorns everywhere else outside of Cincinnati.
