You can say that 1,000 times and you'll still get the same response. Intellectual dishonesty.

Lol, no doubt. Any time you make a good point those against you either completely ignore it or respond with something made up. It ain't my first rodeo and I'm sure I've probably been guilty of doing the same on occasion, just not nearly as frequently as some who post here.

Again wrong. If i mention something that multiple people have said while replying to one of your posts. It doesn't mean I'm lumping you in with them. Please understand that.

Bottom line I'm just no so sure this season can be used as the final straw for wanting cronin gone. It was probably one of the most unlucky sports seasons I've ever seen. Usually those close games are 50/50 not 10/90. If 2-3 of those games went our way would you still consider this season a complete failure? If so then thats your opinion. I just choose to disagree

Say we get a great coach who turns out to be better than Mick. He takes us to the next level so to speak. You think he will be loyal to UC without those upgrades? Hell no. If he, like our current coach, has to continually raise money personally for chartered flights, practice facility upgrades, and locker rooms he will fly the coup the minute a better offer hits the table. We need to make Cincinnati a destination job for a coach. 2.2 million is a great start but as more and more money floods into college athletics it wont be enough. We are a top 30 program but right now as we stand in our conference and our resources we are NOT a top 30 job.

I don't disagree with this.

Haha, you seem really hurt that i used the word offended while replying to your post. Read it again, i did not say its the same thing as YOU acting offended....i said it the same thing as PEOPLE acting offended. It was used as a counterpoint..nothing more

In regards to many people's claims that UC hasn't supported basketball financially and spent all their money on football you're mostly right in your point of view. Being right about that doesn't mean the university wasn't justified in the decisions they were making.

It used to be that you had to buy football season tickets just to get bball tickets. It just so happened that the rise of UC Football came at the same time as the obliteration of UC Hoops. Along with that came the change in the outside landscape that puts more weight on football as a money maker across the board. UC adjusted their focus as necessary. The had a legit top 25 football program for a period of years that was going through explosive growth. That meant most of the money was going to flow to that program, basketball was literally dying and football was at an all time high.

Mick has brought the program back to a certain extent but his program still isn't generating much money for the school. Football is making money, upgrading Nippert was much easier to justify for the school than renovating 5/3rd. Upgrading Nippert brought in new revenue streams with the addition of luxury boxes and those upgrades basically paid for themselves. Doing a complete renovation of 5/3rd arena will not pay for itself and will cost the university a substantial amount of money with no real ROI in sight.

Bottom line is that UC has put more focus on football but there's every justification for them doing what they did. If Mick was selling out every game and his program was making money then he'd have everything he wants/needs by now. I think based on all the circumstances the University has done the best they can to support Mick and make him feel accommodated.

There's certainly some responsibility on Mick to drive the changes he feels he wants by having his program make money. When the focus shifted to UC Football it was because they were doing just that, if UC football was going 6-6 every year and squeaking into bowl games they wouldn't have anything they have now. Brian Kelley forced a practice bubble by winning at an unprecedented level, Mick could have forced the university's had by doing the same but he hasn't.

Let's just say Mick does leave… Which players could you actually see leaving? Our best players are Troy Caupain, Gary Clark and Jacob Evans. Those 3, Washington and Cumberland are the most important players in my eyes.

Kyle Washington has already sat out a year and is eager to play. I'd imagine he would stay since he's already transferred and settled in.
Kevin Johnson is local and wouldn't go anywhere.
Troy is going to be a senior and is best friends with KJ. Do you really think he would bail his senior year here? I don't.
Clark has developed his first 2 years and has had success here. Not sure if he would chance it to play somewhere else.

Evans, Cumberland, Tre Scott, Brooks, Moore, Jenifer would be the most likely to transfer.

I would be most concerned with losing our future stars- Cumberland and Evans. Evans had a great end to his freshman year and would have a ton of schools offering him. If Cumberland de-committed he would have his choice as well. Being local Cumberland seems like a true Bearcat fan. Maybe he would stick around depending on who we brought on to coach. Moore and Jenifer could leave for immediate playing time somewhere else. Moore is never going to start here and Jenifer could start for a number of schools immediately.

I know if a Coach leaves an incoming recruit can get out of their LOI, but can any player already on the team transfer without sitting out a year?

What i find so funny about this thread is you have the same poster who were saying mick would never leave, dream job, loyalty,, blah blah bs. Now he's almost gone and they are freakin out blaming everyone but the person responsible, mighty mick.

Just like all the games he choked away this year, everbody elses fault but micks. Fan base is full of some real clowns.

@GoodmanESPN
Been told by multiple sources Cincinnati coach Mick Cronin and UNLV are headed in the direction of a marriage. Talks still ongoing, though.
