Mick says UC should be ranked higher

Why does Mick even care where they are ranked right now. He really shouldn't care if they are ranked 25th or 18th. He should be 100% focused on beating XU. Beat XU, beat Villanova and then you won't have to whine about not being ranked high.

If you don't think Mick is focused on XU and Nova you are fooling yourself. The fact is that when Mick is asked a question, he answers it honestly. Works for me.

Agreed, its like someone at work asks you a question semi-related to work but has nothing to do with you. What are you not going to answer the question? As if Mick has zero minutes in the day to answer questions, every single waking minute must be devoted to Eggs and Nova. I don't want him to talk to his family about their day, he isn't allowed to say hello to the neighbor, hell i dont even want him watching his late night tv shows! I mean come on people, its getting a bit ridiculous. Not everything he says must be devoted to the next game.

His comments were made during his media access yesterday. If you listen to the entire interview, you can see that what he says makes sense. It wasn't said in a whining, woe is us, manner. He basically says that he will continue to use this to motivate the team. If you take it out of context, like Bill Koch did, it can appear to make Cronin sound this way. Does it really matter? The haters like to parse everything he says anyway, and put a negative spin on it. Put Huggins (who used us against the world psychology on many occasions) behind these exact comments and they would be saying how great it is that he is standing up his players.

Actually I would be considered a Huggs hater and Mick lover if anything. Just because I like Mick doesn't mean that he pisses gold like some people here. It's interesting though that now he is just answering a innocent question where before it was a motivational tactic to have that info in the press.

When you have a reputation for making excuses in the media and making bold claims like "this team would win the A-10" and whatnot, there is no need to say stuff like this Especially when you have not won anything. Respect is earned, so go out and earn it and let that do the talking.

Every one needs to jump off little Mickys back.. I completely agree they should be ranked in the top 20, i am a basketball fanatic and watch every game possible and there is not 20 teams better than UC there is no way. So what if he thinks that they should be ranked higher who cares, if i asked you if you thought you deserved a raise, what would you say? The A10 has about 3 schools that can even compete with the big boys, UC would win the A10 i guarantee it. So lets give coach a little respect and start keying on things like they are undefeated and that there defense is awesome and that they are finally buying into what mick is coaching them. No body says anything to Calipari when he opens up the year saying they are just to young. What no one throws in his face is that he just got the top 5 players in the nation and has 4 other 5 star players on his bench. It is human nature to try and find a reason on why things are happening and in the last 5 years i really believe that Cronin has a very good one(excuse).
