Middle Tennessee State

Skipping over Chicago State on Monday, I was just checking Nebraska's schedule. Wow, they play @Cincinnati then @Iowa then @Ohio State. Poor Huskers. They are currently 76 in the RPI but it is going to drop soon.

There rpi is accually 44. I think you saw their bpi which was 76. This will be a good ooc game for us a 7 and 3 (3 losses to good teams) big ten team with a top 50 rpi. But that's next week this second half against middle Tennessee got me pumped up, we getting some momentum. Hopefully we take down Chicago state with ease and roll into the Nebraska game and our conference with momentum and confidence. I am very confident in this team

The most updated site has them at 76 (LINK). They've lost to UAB, UMass and Creighton and they've beaten Georgia and Miami (FL). As long as they finish around the top 100 I will be fine with it. It does hurt that they are replacing SD State who is 23 in the RPI right now.

Ok thanks I was looking at espn which had them at 44 but I guess that wasn't updated. Still they are pretty goody team

There's more to offense than hitting shots. There's spacing, passing, movement, pics and screens. You make shots when you take good shots and getting good shots involves a lot of things.

This is the truth...even though they hit some shots in the second half their is no flow or movement without the ball. I don't know how to describe the offensive system... any ideas?

Also did anyone take a look at Guyns stat line? I'm not saying judge a player by one game, but this is your starting pg...ugh

I thought KJ gave good minutes minus the fouls. Caupain didn't seem to play all that great but he still managed to score 4 pts, dish out 4 assist and grab 5 boards. Still believe he should be given the keys to the car.

I think the ceiling is high for Caupain and would like to see him get the majority of the minutes. I believe we can see what we are going to get from Guyn... breather/backup minutes but no real production.

Might be interesting to see Guyn and Caupain on the floor at the same time. Wonder what kind of offensive flow we would get? Add SK, Rubles and JJ. I'd like to see Guyn bang the boards more with his touted vertical leap. Caupain seems to have good rebounding sense in that he always seems to be in the vicinity of where the rebound goes.

They scored 48 in the second half. The difference is when shots fall the offense looks good and they can set the press up.

Correct. But the talent is there offensively. People have been ripping them the last 3 games but this team is very very capable offensively. Halfcourt o could always improve but when they listen to Mick, great things happen.

This team is exciting to watch. I'm excited for AAC play. I think we can split with Loserville, uCONn, and Mumphis and run the table on the rest. Smu might be a challenge away but the rest are winnable. 17-3 in conference play isn't out of the question

Yeah Caupain pulled 5 and G pulled 1, but he might get more opportunity playing a 2. Just don't think he brings enough offense to the table...weather its scoring or dishing...

I think if GG played the 2 there might not be as much pressure and he'd be looser. His shots always rattle the rim, they just haven't been going in.

Guyn has had a rough stretch since the Upstate game. I think Mick will end up continuing to start him, but Caupain will be in the game when it counts.

Guyn is definitely the better defender while Caupain is the better scorer. Guyn protects the ball much better bringing it upcourt. Caupain needs to lower his dribble and he'll be fine.

Guyn is very good on the ball when his mind is into it, he needs to improve his focus when he is off the ball. In fact everyone other than probably Rubles needs to get better at that...

I realize that the Pope has a twitter account now and that he has taken a selfie, but may I just say, I'm impressed that Jesus joined our board just to talk about you. I think I need to go back and edit out some of my language in previous posts so that I don't get struck by lightning. :D

The problem with Guyn is he fails to see the big picture as a PG. He needs better peripheral cognition, that's why he has no assists. This perimeter passing has got to change - and soon! To all who say we passed the ball better in the second half, are you sure? Or did MTS's defense just get tired. Nobody moves w/o the ball. They still stand around and wait for SK to do something. I think that's why Mick kept SK on the bench for that one stretch. He wanted to see who would take charge. Nobody did. JJ looked like he had fun, though.

We go way back....
