The problem is that Guyn isn't really a point guard. He doesn't have the court vision or the passing skills to be a true point guard. He's a decent ball handler, but doesn't get others involved. He's no more of a point guard than Kevin Johnson is. I do think there will be a few games where Caupain plays like a freshman and we will need Guyn both this season and next season, but he will soon be transitioning into a back-up role, and it can't come soon enough in my opinion. Caupain can play 25 minutes and still have fresh legs. Guyn can take the majority of the backup point guard minutes, and KJ can have a few as well.

Guyn has got in foul trouble more than Caupain this year, Guyn should know better he is an upper class men.

Yes, he has, although he has been much better about fouls this year. My point wasn't to say Guyn doesn't get into foul trouble only that Caupain does. For those wanting Caupain to play 30 minutes, I'm not sure he can without fouling.

Guyn played way better this game than last. Unfortunately, it was against inferior competition, but it was important for his confidence level. Caupain played good, too, but threw the ball away a couple of times. Both will get plenty of minutes. They played close to equal minutes this time with equal stats (except TO's). I liked the way the Cats passed the ball with zip. Best ball movement this season, but , again, look at the lack of competition. If they played like that vs NM and X, they would be undefeated. It's still a learning situation w/o any Bigs in their way.

In the the Pit at NM we were out played badly by a team with two legitimate bigs. It was our fresh men's first road game. They were the better team. No way were we beating them. X couldn't miss and we couldn't make a shot. You have those kind of nights sometimes.

I agree that Caupain would probably pick up 4 or 5 fouls in a 40 min game but I also believe Guyn would too so it good that they split 20/20 for now.

Again, Guyn is the better player AT THIS MOMENT. He knows the offense better, he plays better D, and he adds more to the team.

That could and will change by the end of the year, but there's no question that Mick is making the absolute right decision by starting Guyn

Guyn missed three uncontested layups vs chi st. He may know the offense but can't execute.

Actually, only one was uncontested. the other 2 were in traffic, but he should have finished. He needs to learn to get the ball out in front and away from his body so it's undefendable.

I'd like to see a 25-15 split toward Caupain. He's the clear future. I think he could play from the wing as well. Especially when he gets more confidence and starts attacking more. I really like him, KJ and SK together on the floor but if Thomas has the potential of adding a whole new dimension so if SK isn't on the floor I like a small line up of Caupain, KJ, Thomas, Sanders and Jackson.
