Have you ever said anything positive about the football or basketball program? Your recent post history suggests not.

Positivity exists when preseason hype is alive and well. Positivity follows positive results. Havent seem many of the later in recent years. Thats the reality and its ok if some dont’t see it that way. Message boards wouldnt exist without differing opinions.

Hitting outside shots isnt something we pride ourselves on. And having Kyle SOFTington as our starting big man, means we get destroyed down low. Gonn have to drive, draw fouls, and get to the foul li......oh wait, we also have Justin Jenifer as our point guard.

We're shooting 37.6% from 3 as a team. What aren't people understanding about that? 6 guys in our rotation are over 37% and our PF go to guy is the worst hitting 1 out of every 3. That's good shooting.

I absolutely love the Cats! I just hate that we are in this funk after such high expectations. I still think this will all get turned around...There is some glaring holes in this team that need fixed ASAP. If they get fixed we should be just fine and we can be a 2nd weekend team, it just NEEDS fixed! Kyle needs to get his head out his ass and Jacob needs to show why he wants/can be a NBA player. Lets go!!

Don’t confuse good shooting with “something we pride ourselves on”. Bearcat basketball is toughness in the paint and driving to the hoop. You knownjust as well as I do, Mick hasnt recruited or coached a pure, great shooter in his tenure. Hence, not “something we pride ourselves on”

maybe not but you'd have to have your head in the sand to not recognize that he is indeed attempting to recruit shooters.

cobb, evans, moore.

none of those were here in the earlier years.

We have 4,400 minutes of playing time available before we have any loser goes home games. I just want us to use that time the best way possible to have us ready to advance against good teams. Whatever gives us the highest ceiling, that's what we should be building towards.
I would say define role for Trevor, Keith, Brooks.

Wish we had a defensive stopper or someone committed to D, that allows the other players to take care of O. I loved Terry Nelson's role on the FF and E-8 teams. Pass, take charges.

Should we start Brooks?? Or just keep subbing?

Did anyone have a close view of Gary? Why all the misses? Not sure how tall he really is. Seemed like he was not quite big or strong enough yesterday. I know he gets tired. We gonna need him fresh. Can't play him more than 32 or 34 minutes. Gotta be strategic with his minutes (extra blow after time out if needed).

they have a role and its not part of the 7 man rotation. so they'll get in based on injuries or foul trouble but thats likely it against the good teams.

our problem is we are struggling to find 7. starters looking at 35 minutes without foul trouble. jenifer and then brooks/scott depending on situation fill out our 7.

what is that percentage against high D1 teams? 26.7% against Florida and 28.6% against Xavier. That % is a little bloated from the cupcake games. Its a lot easier to hit a 3 when you are playing the bottom teams in the NCAA and their defenders are all under 6 foot.

Looking forward to tonights game. Will go a long way in showing what this team is made of. They didn't show up for Xavier and got their collective butt handed to them. Then they responded by losing a VERY winnable game against Florida.

I fully expect a complete game from the cats and bouncing back. But I think that occurs because:

1) Broome gets more PT....Jenifer sits. NOt just play them together, hate that.
2) Evans is aggressive all game
3) Cumberland bounces back

We need Broome to play well and either Cumberland or Washington to step up....and I think Cumberland is far more likely. Not sure what's wrong with him, he should be the best player on this team if he wanted to be.

Agree!!! Plus the two games we played against Florida and X were on a neutral floor and at X. We shot the ball terrible in those games. The cupcakes definitely over inflated our %

You would think Kyle would be the one who steps up since he's a senior. Broome has surprised me. I was in the group that wanted to see what he could do against better competition and he showed up in the shootout and Florida games. Still not as good a shooter as people were saying but he can get to the rim at ease. Cumberland looks like he is lost out there at times. Meds to work on a pull up jumper to end those charging calls. A guy his size driving the lane against a smaller defender will usually go down as a charge.

They played well together. No TO's and Broome scored points.

I would also add that Washington needs to quit forcing shots and play some defense.

Except of course Jenifer can't defend anyone...playing well on 1 end of the floor does no good.

Actually he didnt play well on any side of the court. 23 minutes....points? Nope...assists = 1???? really?

While I do agree patsies can pad your stats...through 9 games last year we shot sub .274 from 3 against Albany (.238), Brown (.273) and Samford (.200). We also shot .143 against ISU and .231 against Butler.

Last year at this point we had 4 games that were worse than any game so far this year. Unfortunately our worst 3 have been the last 3 so we need to get that corrected. X (.286), FLA (.267), and AL ST (.273).

Our 2 best games are better than any game by this point last year. We also have 2 other games better than all but 1 game by this point last year...through 9 games.

Bottom line is I think we are a better shooting team from 3. We are shooting better against both patsies and the better teams so far.

they dont play well together because broome is out of position and jenifer isn't very good. you weaken 2 positions with them both in the game.

Cincy I really can't go into detail but on BCJ Chad did a breakdown on how the team performed when JJ and Broome were on the court together and the outcome was the team did well. I'll also add I was surprised as well.
