Guys assist are a function of delivering the ball to a person who finishes the play. To point out JJ didn’t have any assist is a bit misleading when the guys getting the passes played as bad as we did last two games. 21 to’s and we couldn’t throw it in the ocean. He didn’t have a TO in 23 minutes. I hardly think he was our problem against Florida.

This is stupid and pointless but I'm going to do it anyway.

Estimate of minutes I'd like to see at this point:

Jenifer 15
Broome 30
Cumberland 30
Evans 33
Moore 8
Williams 4
Clark 30
Scott 14
Washington 20
Brooks 10
Nsoseme 4
Diarra 2

This would breakdown to be:

PG = Broome 25 + Jenifer 15
SG = Cumberland 30 + Broome 5 + Moore 5
SF = Evans 33 + Williams 4 + Moore 3
PF = Clark 30 + Scott 8 + Diarra 2
C = Washington 20 + Brooks 10 + Scott 6 + Nsoseme 4

Their starting PG: 15 pts 6 ast 4 reb 3 to

Our starting PG: 0 pts 1 ast 0 reb 1 to

^That puts us way behind

I would love to see Moore around 15 minutes but it's so early that it's hard to tell with him. HOw long has it been since we had a guy that could stand 25+ feet out and knock sh%t down??

Jake we turned it over 21 Times. None by him. Our advantage going into that game was our bigs and they were terrible. Washington did nothing and Gary was better but missed a ton of easy shots.

Who plays PG is far from our problem if Kyle, Evans and Cumberland don’t get to playing well.

He's doing what has been asked of him really. I can't fault Jenifer for that. He delivers the ball without much anxiety of it being picked off. He can knock a 3 down and he can get out in transition. Far from being a liability but maybe also just as far from being a huge asset. Hey Jenifer...make a few buckets in a big game and get some of these fans off your back.

yeah the game looked a bit too big for him. he was air balling wide open 3s. i don't see any of the freshman as being capable of helping much against the tougher opponents.

I get it...I really do...but Jarron had some real bricks and I don't worry too much about him. you have to let a shooter shoot his way out if he can.

I am not saying he can...but I would like to see him try.

Xavier was probably not a great atmosphere to test what a frosh is capable of. It's the worst of the worst. He will NEVER face a more hostile crowd in his lifetime.

Give him another shot please!!

what you are saying is JJ is entirely reliant on his teammates to make him look better. thats the opposite of a pg's job.

jenifer doesn't bring anything else. he doesn't get rebounds, he doesn't get steals, he doesn't penetrate. his 3 point shooting % is an illusion. he hasn't yet faced any teams that have put any pressure on him anywhere on the court so he should have a low turnover rate.

I think the main problem is every good team is aware of Cronin's love for Gary and also pounding the paint. We tried to force it down there even though the other team was already planning for it.

We have so many weapons. We don't need to force anything IMO. I thought myself it would be a good idea to force it in the paint. It wasn't. We needs to take what the D gives us...we can do that on just about every level. Our versatility is our strong suit...forcing sh%t is a bad idea.

Just bc those other guys are having problems, doesn't mean playing Jenifer that much can't also be a problem. At least those other guys have a track record.

I was all for Jenifer starting at the beginning. He seemed more ready for the season to me. Coach said the lineup would change a lot over the course of the season, and he was true to that. We've had 3 different lineups I believe. So in the spirit of running things that way and rewarding the guys who are playing well and helping the team, why not move Broome back into the starting lineup? It's not a slight to Jenifer, just like it wasn't a slight to Broome earlier. If that's what we're doing, I just don't see how anyone can defend the idea of Jenifer starting over or playing as many minutes as Broome.
