Kobe and the Lakes were looking pretty good yesterday, especially their defense and rebounding. If the Lakers win next game, this series is finished. No way Boston wins three straight at home against this team.

Funny how Cleveland does well the last two years but sheds its GM and HC. Yet holds on to the asst coach Bron likes. WTF is running this team? Oh yeah, the star.

His numbers will end up more impressive than MJ.

How many more years do you expect Kobe to play? The only stat he will surpass MJ (and he already has) is money earned (playing salary only). MJ made just over $90 Million and Kobe is just over $171 Million.

Jordan scored 32,292 points in 15 seasons. Kobe has scored 25,790 points in 14 seasons. Jordan shot .497 from the field. Kobe has shot .455 from the field so far in his career. Jordan had 6,672 total rebounds. Kobe has had 5410 total rebounds. Jordan had 5633 total assists. Kobe has had 4766 assists. Jordan had 2514 steals. Kobe has had 1554 steals. Jordan had 893 blocks. Kobe has 564 blocks. Jordan had 2924 TOs and Kobe has had 2985.

Kobe may be able to overtake Jordan points and rebounds but that is it and it will still take him 4 more years (or 3 more years than MJ played). To say his numbers will be more impressive than MJs is flat out wrong. He won't even be close when you look at them on a per game basis.

I think Kobe is trying to get the other guys involved, as he is surrounded by better talent (at least guys who are better offensively) than Michael was.

Kobe used to have to try and score the ball often prior to Pau joining the team, but the last two years, he's looking more to get more assists.

Essentially, the days of Kobe needing 50 plus points to win a game are over, and have been for 2-3 years. It's hard to compare scoring, as players have different teams that might alter roles. Keep in mind, if Bynum was healthy, he'd be playing more minutes and getting quite a bit more points.

I'd say both MJ and Kobe are top 10 players, and I can see an argument for why MJ is best overall, but some would say Russell was pretty darn good as well.

I wasnt able to watch some of the greats back in the day. I wish Ralphy was still here and he could inform us...He was alive before Basketball was invented, right?

You can't compare players accurately that play different positions (not to mention different eras). Russell was the most successful player of all time and don't forget he also won a couple titles as a player coach.

MJ and Kobe are both 2 guards and Kobe has always tried to imitate MJ so the comparisons are fair. MJ has only played 50 more games than Kobe has in the regular season so far so the numbers I had before are pretty telling. Kobe has scored over 2300 points in a season 4 times. MJ did it 11 times. You can say Kobe is getting others involved but the assist numbers don't back that up either.

I also believe the talent in the league has shifted. It used to be that players would hang around the teams more (see old Lakers/Celtics), but now the league is run by Free Agents who can make a bad team (see Celtics) into a powerhouse by all signing there. What you have is a far different league. Also, there are far more quality stars around now than when MJ played. It was MJ and then everyone else. Big men want to handle the ball and shoot threes, so dominant big men are gone, and guys who can shoot are much more valuable, especially with zones and new rules inside.

Awesome game... even better result.

Big Baby is a ball player. For his lack of size he dominates. Very quick for a big fella, seems to blow by people.

Ive said it before and all say it again. Ron Artest is so overrated. How he plays as much as he does in mind boggling. He throws up bricks, he cant dribble and his defense is AVERAGE. garbage. ill drop 30 on that clown.

Id throw vujacic out there, he can flat shoot.

One more boston.

Haha Ron is a good role player. Kobe is trying to win with these Ritards. I called Celtics in 6 and still have that.

How? What does he bring to the table?

- Not shooting
- Not dribbling
- Not defense (lit up for 30 tonight)
- Not athletic ability
- Not good apparel (1920 short shorts)
- Not book smarts (bam, went there)

Put Sasha in, he can shoot... Move Kobe on Peirce, Sasha on Rondo. Throw Artest to a Rec league where he will get lit up for 30 per night.

He's a pyscho. He's got that going for him. Which is nice.

Ron Artest is the dumbest player in the NBA. What a moron. How do you get called for a hand check at half court with 2 minutes to go in game 7 up 6? He could have been called for a foul 4 straight possessions. He is lucky they only called him for one.

WHAT!! No..... Without Ron they dont win this championship. He was lock down.

Every team needs a Ron Ron. Seriously, how bad could UC use a bad ass who isnt afraid of anyone. Awesome.

Ron is a hell of an interviewee.

The other nite he didn't answer a question, and tonite he thanx his psychiatrist and promotes an album. Now that is effing priceless.
