Road wins that we should get: Providence and DePaul.
Providence plays teams close at home. This will be no cake walk. They could very well beat us, and that would be a bad loss. We should beat DePaul by 10+.
Coin Toss: ND & SJU
ND is very good at home. We're going to get homered, no doubt. We're more athletic, but they're at home. We win this game by 8-12 points at 5/3. On the road...???
We are better than them, but it is at SJU. It won't be viewed as a bad loss, but it would be a very good road win on our resume.
Unlikely: Pitt, Georgetown and Marquette.
Not likely at Pitt.
We've got a better chance of winning at Georgetown, IMO.
Marquette is soooo tough at home.
My only concern at Notre Dame is foul calls and three point shooting. The Irish shoot lights out and UC seems to get killed on the road by refs. We all know ND gets a lot of ticky tack foul calls going their way at home.
I think the St. John's game is winnable but also think it's going to be a helluva battle. Teams are very similiar. This is a game Gates could be the difference in. If he shows up.
I agree we can win at Georgetown. See above comment about Gates. Georgetown's low post players suck. Keep them from run outs and they are very beatable.
Don't see a win at Marquette. They never take a play off and yes they play even tougher at home. Again, they have no inside game and Gates could be huge here as well. Seeing a theme?
We're not winning at Pitt in my opinion.
Providence and Depaul should be wins, but Providence is tough offensively at home and we'll have to score to beat them.
There simply isn't any low post players that have Gates size and ability in 90%of the road games UC plays. I'm not trying to slam the young man but I hope he realizes he is the crux for this team and begins to play with some passion. The one thing that has been a weakness for this team the past three games (low post play) could be a strength. Only Syracuse, USF, and Pitt, have two players with the size of Gates and Thomas. If they can find their passion this team would take off.
