I could careless what Mick says to the media. I'm only interested in results. As I have posted here many times I am not ready under the conditions this program is force to operate under due to conference affiliation to fire the coach. I'm 64 years old and have no desire to relive the Yates years. I like filling out my bracket with UC in the field. I like knowing that on most nights I have a chance to root for a winner. He delivers that in a broken system. I have know desire to end up like UCONN or Memphis and others who have dropped off the landscape. I do recognize that someone better may be out there but I am a guy who likes the odds in his favor. Searching for someone who can deliver what most on here want is not a slam dunk. Also if you did find him how long would he stay. So my hope is Mick learns form his missteps and improves. For anyone disagreeing with me I certainly respect your opinion but we will have to agree to disagree.

I care about the Bearcats, and agree that Mick's recruiting is handicapped by the conference affiliation. But I also realize that Mick handicaps himself by who he recruits. He has now dug a hole he can't get out of, and we all are subjected to it! I will leave it at that!

I don't understand, after a loss like this, why Cronin wouldn't take the blame on everything, just to make his players feel better. It seems like an easy thing that he could do but I rarely see him do it

Yeah instead he said it was like the players were on a train track with a train coming and he couldn't do anything. Notice he doesn't see himself on the track there with them. Instead he's standing there on the side of the track cussing them out and screaming at them as the train closes in. Very helpful!

The buck stops here.

If Cronin threw the kids under the bus he should be fired today! But I want to hear it from one of the players not a fan on a chat board who may have a agenda. I want to know how they interpreted his comments and what he said to them.

You wouldn’t say, my bad guys, just to make people feel better? I think most coaches or good leaders would do this without thinking about it.

He probably did say that and much more but in the locker room with the door closed. That is where it meant something to the players. He has never had a morale problem with his teams. No way would we have had the success we have had if he did. No one would want to come here. Players come here because they know he pushes them and holds them accountable. I am stunned we are having this conversation

Biggest 2nd half blown lead in NCAA Tournament history. Lots of things being questioned, and rightfully so.

Cronin is not responsible for players making shots but he is responsible for making sure they stay composed. He was responsible 100% for NOT taking Cumberland out of the game (coaching 101). He is responsible for letting the team know which shots to take and when.

I think at least 50% of the blame is on the coach for the meltdown. A coach with a smaller ego would put the blame squarely on themselves and take ALL the pressure and embarrassment off the kids. I f-ed up...this one's on me guys!! Don't hang your heads...I will do a better job next time and I am sorry.

I am not saying fire the coach...but if he can't look at the mirror then maybe it's never going to get better.

Hold on. I disagree. We talk about Cronin micromanaging his players. Cumberland said coach, don't take me out. Coach trust Cumberland to stay in and not pick up that 5th foul. Has Cumberland fouled out all year? Maybe once IDK. If the gamble would have paid off it would have been man, Thank G that Cronin kept Cumberland in. There's 5 minutes left, what was he going to do sit, for 2 minutes. You have to trust your player to not pick up the 5th foul. It was unfortunate he did, but I had mass respect for Cumberland saying don't take me out and Cronin listening.

There's 100 things I wish we could take back within the last 10 minutes and yes Cronin has to do with it, but so does the softness in our team that we have seen glimpses of all year. I get our defense is so good, but come on, we haven't been tough since Yancy Gates and Bishop graduated. Our players are "nice" now. So nice that they handed Nevada the win along with Cronin.

You take him the F out on that first defensive play after his 4th and you tell him what needs to NOT happen. Then put him back in when you feel like he's got the message. Clearly Cumberland didn't have any message. Every single player wants to stay in the game and think they aren't going to pick up another foul...come on man...you don't let players dictate that kind of stuff.

Disagree.

Whose best player is coming out with 5 minutes to go?
