New Conference Realignment Thread

When is this invite to the ACC going to happen?

As no ACC school is going to leave the ACC, the schools are solidly committed to the ACC especially now that ND is joining, it will take a decision by the ACC to expand to 17 teams for UC to have an opportunity. Even then UC could be behind UConn, Navy (the ACC market vacated by Maryland), and USF for a spot.
Yes those acc schools are so committed that nearly all have inquired other conferences about leaving

Not ruffling any feathers, giving my opinion which is well based. The Big 10 has no where to go to expand, the 4 available ACC schools that are AAU members, a Big 10 requirement for any school but ND, Duke, UNC, Virginia, GT, have already turned the Big 10 down. That is why the Big 10 ended up with Maryland, the last available AAU school.

ACC schools will not leave the ACC for the Big 12, or any other conference. The ACC is solidly together, especially with ND coming in.

The Big 12 has stated they will not expand if it causes the current 10 to make less money. Neither UC or UConn raise the Big 12 TV rights by $25 million each. The only schools that come close to raising the TV rights $25 million each are schools such as Florida State and Miami and neither has any interest in joining the Big 12.

With the Big 10 and Big 12 unable to make moves realignment within the Power 5 is for all intents and purposes over.

Once again Ralphie, where is your link for this? And don't give me that nonsense about if I really believe Maryland was their first choice because that's not what I'm asking for.

And again Ralphie, where is your link for this? You can't put your opinion out there as fact without proof.

Where is your link from an ACC member school official where the official states the school is looking to join a new conference?

After the defection of Maryland the ACC school President's issued a solidarity statement that all are committed to the ACC and none would be leaving.

And didn't the Big East also issue a similar statement after WVU left?

Ralph, recent history suggests that most schools are looking at all their available options re: expansion. The SEC, Big Ten, and Pac 12 are the only conferences that are stable right now. There have been numerous articles stating the Big Ten will be the conference that leads the next charge of conference realignment. In those articles, schools like Virgina, GT, and UNC are listed to be at the top of their list for expansion. Those links have been posted on this site before. Maybe if you and BearcatMick didn't fill the last thread with bickering back and forth, you could find those links.

I have never once seen anything published that says the ACC schools are so happy with their situation that they would NEVER consider leaving. Unless you can provide a link, you are just making up facts to support your delusion.

I haven't said anywhere that they are looking to leave because that would be a false statement and I don't make those like you apparently do. Several of those schools are rumored to be interested in going elsewhere and I can state my opinion if I choose to, but I don't make factual statements like you do. Maybe if you started off your posts with what you think will happen instead of cramming your BS down everyone's throat then there could be an actual discussion about your thoughts as well as others. But as it is now, you are acting all righteous standing up on your self-made pedestal screaming look at me look at me. Might want to yell upstairs to mom and tell her we aren't being nice or buying your garbage at all.

A Big East statement has nothing to do with the ACC, the two are mutally exclusive.
