Next years team

I believe they will be replaceable by other players. His biggest attribute was being able to guard bigs and guards enabling the team to switch all the time. We might lose that but as I said I think some offense productivity will make up for it.
he also shot FT's well. If his replacement scores 6 more points and gives up 3 baskets defensively that is. Push. He'll be a lot harder to replace then some think.

If Shaq can gain 20 pounds and Lawrence can gain 20-25 pounds and they both become aggressive our front line will be a force to be reckoned with.

not same situation. We lost a lot of experience.

Rubles only had one year experience. We are replacing him with a five star recruit in Lawrence and a four star recruit in Clark. I think they will be up to the task of replacing an offensive liability. Just get their motors high and they will exceed what rubles brought to the table.

time will tell.

Cincinnati is sacrificing experience and grit for talent. We need to hope that talent gains experience fast. If so, UC has a chance to be very good next year.

Talent will always prevail in time. The real issue is our wasted recruiting classes.

I remember Mick saying last off-season that they were feeding Shaq like a lineman trying to get him to add weight and it wasn't happening. Just not his body type. Hopefully he can gain a few lbs and add some strength, but 20 lbs isn't going to happen.

Remember that part of being a good shooter is getting open looks. If UC has a consistent scoring option in the post, it will open up the outside shot and percentages will go up. I don't think we have a pure shooter on this roster right now, and that is needed, but until you can make the defense respect an inside threat, a pure shooter won't help much.

Good point. I don't think that will be an issue next year with all of the options we will have. I realize that not all of them will pan out or be effective right away, but their talent will draw some attention by opposing defenses.

Haven't caught up on threads yet this morning so if someone posted this I apologize. Jeff Goodman is saying Virginia Tech freshman 7-footer Trevor Thompson will transfer from the program.

Im not sure who all will start next year...but here is how i hope the minutes go...
Caupain - 25 mpg
Guyn - 15
Johnson - 22
Morman - 18
Thomas - 25
Sanders - 20
Lawrence - 22
Clark - 15
Moore - 12
DeBerry - 18
Strickland - 8

This is just my hope. Im not totally sure how the rotation will work at 4/5 besides Lawrence starting at 4, but with our length and athleticism we may be able to use 3 guards and Shaq at times.

No doubt he will see minutes there I just dont think that he should. I think he might see some time at the two and you'll see him and Troy on the floor together next season. I just watch him and wonder what he consistently contributes to make him worthy of major minutes on a high major team.

I have asked myself this for the better part of 2 years. Only thing I can think of was the dynamics of this years squad. It is mind boggling when you look at his production or lack therof.

Obviously this is subject to change if we land a juco/5th year grad transfer

I know we are looking at Graham, Jones and Punter and that we all want a shooter to stretch the defense. Watching the games this weekend it would be nice if we could get a guy like Luke Hancock or Ethan Wragge, I know that Mick values defense but couldn't we trade a little defense for offense at least for 1 roster player. Hancock had zero stars when he committed to George Mason and Wragge was a two star recruit.

I think Clark sees more time and Sanders sees less. Also, if we don't land a JUCO, I think Johnson will see 25 minutes to Morman's 15. You're not too far off from what I'm thinking though.
