The new-look ACC is slow-paced. Conference games have been almost 3 possessions slower than B1G contests.

Cuse, Pitt, and ND might be bringing the old big east style to the Acc. FSU also plays a similar slug it out defensive style.

The new ACC is what the old Big East was. Those teams will beat up each other for sure. Duke is probably like "What the h*ll" right now lol.

Don't forget about Virginia and their pack line defense. They are always one of the slowest paced, grind-it-out teams in the country. Clemson and Miami also play a similar style. North Carolina is really the only team in the ACC that pushes the pace. You are right though, add in teams like Syracuse and Pitt and you definitely have a grinder of a conference.

I would really like to see us have another good team in our conference after Louisville leaves this year, I would love to get a team like Wichita state from the mvc since Creighton isn't in it anymore they won't have really any challenges in that conference. I don't know if they have a football team, but we could really use them in basketball.

This will be an interesting week for UConn. They play at Memphis on Thursday and host L'ville on Saturday.

I watched a little of the SMU / USF game. SMU did a nice job updating / renovating their home court. It's on the small side at about 7000 capacity but should be a good home court for them.

In the updated ESPN BPI / Tournament section SMU is in as 7 seed - The idea being if the season were over today Lunardi would project then as in. Currently 5 AAC team - the Cats, memphis, smu, uconn and l'ville project as in. 5 teams in would be huge for a new conference.

Who are you guys rooting for tonight in the UConn/Memphis game on ESPN at 7? I guess it doesn't matter too much if it all stays in the conference, but I'll be pulling for Memphis, just because we have a good quality road win against them. If they can remain a great team and finish top 15, that'd be huge for us.

Memphis, for the same reasons you mentioned. I'm hoping for an exciting game as a showcase for the AAC.

Anyone read P-doc today in the Enquirer? He mentioned, in reference to the x-gtown game, that he likes the new big east better due to more offense and being more entertaining. His claim isn't without merit, but there was something special about those big east slug fests, at least to me. Every shot mattered. The way I felt about the old big east was how I think SEC fans think about their brand of football - it's just better and no conference compares
