Welcome to this argument. People have said he needs to hit the jumper to allow him to get to the basket easier. I have said that is not the case in this situation.

You sound like Ralph when you argue...Rubles making outside jumpers would make it easier to get to the basket. The fact that you don't understand this tells me you have very little knowledge of basketball....But others on here have not been arguing that he should be standing behind the 3 point line hoisting up 3's like you are trying to argue.

As for guys running into eachother.....I have yet to see anyone run anywhere on the offensive end. You see when the other team has the ball that is called defense. I see plenty of times where we run into eachother then hustling to pick up a man.

wtf are you even talking about? if you haven't seen them running into each other than I don't know what to tell you. You think I'm just making it up that they have run into each other? Seriously...

Offensively I see the weave and no other movement what so ever. I have watched plenty. Thank you young man

They haven't been using the hand off when they weave. They haven't all year. Maybe you are watching tapes of last year?

I had something all typed up but tired of arguing with stupidity.

We have had a good debate going on and Longhaul comes in and makes personal attacks. haha

Obv people are arguing about his jumper and the effectivness of it. Refer to the last 2 pages.

I am replying with solid arguments as are they.

Thanks for ruining longhaul. so sad

I've been reading this back and forth between several of you and I have come to the conclusion that both sides are right to a degree and wrong as well. Here is how I look at the Rubles driving/respecting shot thing.

We all know enough about basketball that you try to make the person have to beat you with their weakness. For Titus, that is his shot. Teams are going to back off of him and that will make it more difficult to drive to the basket. It will not make it impossible because he will shoot, can make shots and has a great pump fake that works every time. Even if the defender is several feet off of him, as soon as they see the shot fake, instincts take over and they always either leave their feet or roll up on their toes. This allows Titus to get around them. So yes, having an outside shot would help this part of his game, but not having a consistent one will not eliminate his ability to drive.

I look at this from a game by game standpoint. At this point of the season, the scouting of a player is pretty well finalized. There will be some tweaking as the year goes on but for the most part, they are who we thought they were. Titus has to realize that he is going to be given that shot, and while he cannot fall in love with it, it would be a great addition if he could knock one or two down early in the game. That would force the defense to have to play him tighter and thus increase his effectiveness going to the basket. If I'm Mick, I am telling Titus to shoot early and drive late in games.

Fair

I want Rubles to be as good as everyone else but in addition to him shooting 4.8% from the 3-point line, the guy has 28 turnovers despite averaging only 19.3 minutes per game. I know he gets to the hole sometimes and when he does, it gives this team an added dynamic but from the sample size so far, he's hoisting 3's (not to mention long 2's) that he is not knocking down and he's out of control which leads to turning the ball over.

That said...I do think his ability to turn it on and play consistently can be the difference in this team being special. We've seen him make some clutch baskets and I think teams will continue to pressure and focus on SK and Cash, and if TRub and JPark can capitalize on that, we can be dangerous on offense. Titus needs to improve for that to happen though...both in shooting and decision making. Averaging 2 TOs a game when you are playing less than half the game is no good.

If it's in there and Mick seems to think it is, he does need to keep pressing because him stepping up would be absolutely huge to this offense.

TRub appears to be the polarizing character this year on the Bearcats. And I think that's just at this point...he's a wild card. If he's off, it's ugly. If he's on...this team has a much needed added dimension. Unfortunately, it's mostly been off this season. The good news is we're 13-1 despite that and he's still relatively inexperienced (along with Nyarsuk and Shaq).

you still don't get it.

What is going on with pit???? Down 16 to Rutgers??

They look so terrible. This is what I came up with. Every decent team we play and beat, it takes so much out of them jsut to compete because we are just nasty. So when they play their next game they got nothing. Look at NM-lost to SLU, Pitt- will lose to RU, ALA-lost to Dayton and Mercer, Eggsavier-lost every game after the shootout. We are a nightmare for teams, we wear them down and gas them out. Teams don't want to play us.

Interesting theory. Seems to happen
