point guard duties

Agree with you a 100% about this being a big off season for Lawrence. Really need for him to grow into that 4 spot. Clark is 6'7 and listed at 210.

5 will be Strickland and DeBerry I think you forgot DeBerry. Moore could be in the mix at 4. He supposedly has a sweet shot from longrange. The question is does he have the quicks to guard the position. If not he is a 5. In that case GC will probably play some 4.

You're right, I did forget DeBerry, and NTS' rotation is def better than mine.

Here is how it actually will play out:

PG- Caupain, Guyn, Johnson, Morman
SG- Johnson, Morman, Guyn
SF- Thomas/Sanders, Morman, Clark
PF- Lawrence, Clark, Sanders, Moore
C- DeBerry, Strickland, Moore

Only seniors will be Sanders and Guyn, probably will be somewhat of a rebuilding year. However, the team after has a chance to be special.

I have a feeling one of the incoming recruits will be asked to redshirt. Of the 2 schollys left, at least one will likely go to a JC player. Hopefully that will be Graham. Looking at your rotation, it makes sense to ask Moore to redshirt. If that happens, I wonder how well he will handle the request.

It is a possibility. It depends what happens with the spring recruiting period. I believe UC now has 2 open scholarships with JDIII transferring. I would like to see one "big" guard/wing and another big man.

NTS, they definitely have 2 open with JD3 leaving.Like you i think they will bring in a wing with it if not they will wait until next year to use it.

Also agree with your rotation.

Barring a injury to Caupain ABSOLUTELY NO WAY DOES GG START AT PG NEXT YEAR> Sorry to yell but it ain't happening. He isn't playing the majority of the minutes now. He certainly isn't getting minutes when the game is on the line. MC is using him to chew up some minutes because freshman generally have issues picking up fouls. With the rule changes it is even worse on the youngsters.Better to use GG early then late when the game might be close. I mean the last two games TC came in and picked up two quick fouls and was out of the game for the rest of the half. Also telling a guy don't shot is not the answer. Players especially PG need to know there roles and capabilities. If the shot clock is running down he might need to shoot it. If the clock is running down and the only available pass is to throw it to Rubles who will need to jack up a jumper or JJ for that matter I would rater he set himself and shoot it. Having a guy out there who is handling the ball as much as a PG is and telling him don't shoot is giving the defense a big advantage. Other teams figure out real quick if a guy won't shoot and can double on others if that be the case.GG has made some shots. If I go back on this site I will find people on here who have said that his shot is not bad at all. He isn't shooting well now but he has hit some shots. Lets not panic or go over the edge. Heck people wanted to run Sanders out of the rotation earlier because he couldn't throw it in the ocean.GG is fine in his role and he wil eventually come out of his slump. As I said, he has hit some shots and his form isn't God awful ugly like Rubles. There is no comparison between the two.

ALL THE ABOVE IS CORRECT, BUT AS for TROY HE NEEDS TO START! The game flows better he gets everyone involved and he makes plays. AS A RECALL GG is also quick to foul also and he should have the experience since he has been there 3 years. And as far as sanders never was I a person that wanted to throw them in the ocean,ha,ha. because I watched tapes of him seen his resume the kid can play I seen he won player of the year in high school and wona lot of other things in new york, I know alot of people that have seen him play and know he just needs confidence, and we are seeing it now, he needs confidence no pulling him right away, letting him play and we get results same as shaq it is a confidence thing and coaches has to see that

I was a little skeptical myself concerning Sanders. I think BearcatJeff was the last of the mohicans holding out hope for Sanders. The funny thing is most fans are a little short sighted. If a player has a bad game then want him benched. That is part of being emotinally tied to the team I guess. What is the old saying? Your only as good as your last shot. Shot, pass kick insert anything there and it works. If you are a success they love you if not the mnajority wants a change.

If we still have two schollys left, why would we ask someone to redshirt? Seems very unlikely we sign 3 more guys for the '14 class.

Not sure I understand your question but we would red shirt becasue we don't want to waste a years of elgibility for some one who isn't going to play a lot this year and may need time to develop. As a example MC said one of his biggest regrets was not red shirting Parker. also if i understand yor question right red shirting doesn't mean you get a extra scholly. we would still only have two.

You're right, I get that mixed up a lot. I see the advantage of redshirting someone when they'd be 3rd string. Just need to be careful though is my only worry. If one of the guy's ahead of him doesn't pan out and the other one gets hurt, you're kind of screwed.

You can always take the redshirt off. If someone is needed they can play.

After reading your post I certinly feel better about my perdiction. You wouldn't want to make a wager on it would You?

Wow, you didn't tell me we could have been wagering on all these predictions and posts. I would already have some decent spending money in my pocket by now. Like, if I remember correctly from back in March, you were big-time predicting that Jackson and Rubles wouldn't be playing this year. How did that prediction work out?.

Right, but if you need them in mid-February, no way do you un-redshirt them

Right but that still falls in line with your theory of someone not panning out and an injury. At least if they redshirt and are not needed they wont dont waste away on the bench and lose that year of eligibility. So you would be screwed either way but at least this way you save a player a year.

Waite, this was your post on July 1st.....

"If the freshman are better than the returnees they will play. If Caupain isn't better than Guyn we are in trouble.if your freshman are a big part of team, which they will be this year, starting them early on is a good thing because it usually is the softest part of schedule and will allow for growing pains.Nothing Guyn has done in 2 years tells me he is a starting point guard. The whole Mick doesn't start freshmen is BS. Lots of successful programs start freshmen. The talent Mick brought in this year is heads and shoulders above any class Mick has recruited. Sitting them on the bench for guys who aren't their equal is nonsense. If Caupain can't give us more than 2 points and 3 TO every 16 minutes we shouldn't have awarded him a scholly".

You and Mick obviously have a different thought process.
I would wager you but I really don't want your money. I still like my prediction. Plus, does the highlighted section call into question whether we have a successful program or not?

No, the highlighted section does not call into question if we have successful program or not.

Ok, thanks. I didn't think so either, but when Waite says it, we can usually take it to the bank, so I just asked the question. If successful programs start freshmen, then why don't we? Why is it that GG is starting over Troy, because I personally feel that starting is important and getting off to a good start in anything is critical. The only answer can be what we can't see...which is practice and work ethic. Mick is obviously rewarding GG for things other than game performance.....and that same thing could hold true for next year as well.

never perdicted neither wouldn't be playing. Always said Rubles would start and be a big part of the team. I did have my doubts about JJ as did many who post here. And yes GG is starting but the majoriy of the minutes go to Caupain.

I have never highlighted any of my post.
