I think Romano is starting to find his footing a little bit. Bailey, Castillo, Mahle, and Romano could be an alright 1-4 for now.

Yea the pitching seems to be coming around. Would like to add a lefty to the rotation. Garrett has been lights out in the pen. I think eventually he will replace Finnegan. Stephenson had a very nice start last time out in Louisville. Reed is taking baby steps but showing improvement. Got to get Suarez, Schebler healthy and get Senzel up here. If I was running the reds Suarez would be my SS and Senzel would take over 3rd. Perraza would sub up the middle and in CF when needed. Gennett while he hits is terrible fielding as is Winker.

I 1000% agree.

Regular lineup against RHP for me would be

Gennett 2B
Suarez SS
Votto 1B
Duvall LF
Winker CF
Senzel 3B
Schebler RF
Barnhart C
P

I worry about Garrett going back into the rotation. I'm not sure if he'll ever be a legit starter. Last year his OPS allowed as the game went on was:

1st time through the order - .856 OPS allowed
2nd time through - .882 OPS allowed
3rd time through - 1.206 OPS allowed

He also allowed a higher OPS on regular rest than on an extra day. A little concerning for me.

A couple of things Jake.
Garrett pitched through a hip injury las year after getting off to a nice start. He got healthy over the winter and pitched lights out in ST. I don't usually like to guage performance on spring numbers but his velocity was way up.

The other thing is I really don't think Winker could play CF. He is snail slow. Schebler would be better with Duvall in RF and Winker in LF.

Other then that I like your line up.

Works for me.

Reds Fire Price and Pitching coach Jenkins. Riggleman will serve as manager until the end of year when a search will be done to find new manager. My guess is Barry Larkin will get heavy consideration.

Mesoraco for Harvey?

Weird trade. Maybe Harvey can become a stud and they can trade him at the deadline. It won't be here next year anyway since I think he is a free agent and he doesn't fit the rebuild.

Does anyone know what is going on with Senzel, tweeted he was ok and would play and has not, very quiet. Think there was a game plan when they brought up DH to play 2nd.

He is battling issues of Vertigo. The same thing that sidelined him last year. I also think the Reds are trying to wait out the service time issue so they can retain him a extra year. Hope he can get back soon and this doesn't become a ongoing problem for him. He is a very good player.

Reds non-tender Billy Hamilton.

I have no problem with this. I love Billy patrolling center field and love him on the basepaths, but overall he just doesnt cut it as a major league hitter. Not for the money he was going to command. I think I heard 9.8 million was the figure if we kept him. There's just no way. Now if you can still sign him as a free agent in the 4 million range I'd bring him back as an option with no three clear cut bonafide everyday outfielders ahead of him.

Actually Dave it was Around 5.9 mil. I have no issue as well. Billy was never going to hit or get on base enough to fully utilize his major weapon speed. My belief is this will enable them to play Senzel in CF for a year before moving him to 2B when Scooter leaves after this year. They worked him out there a bit after the season before he had to shut it down and the feeling was he good to the job. Don't see them resigning Scooter long term because he is on the wrong side of 30 and he is a really bad fielder. Trammel or Siri will be in CF in 2020 with Senzel moving back to infield.

Ok, I thought 9.8 seemed high. I heard that on 700 wlw kind of in passing so I must've heard wrong. Everything you said about him is spot on. He just doesnt get on base enough to warrant a spot. And roughly 30 steals last year just doesnt cut it. He wasnt even running when he got on base and honestly with one of the smallest parks in MLB you can get away with not having super speed in the outfield.

I hope Senzel can stay healthy, I just have a suspicion he'll be one of those oft-injured, cant live up to potential guys. I'd trade him for the right deal

Gosh I hope not. He is very athletic. He is Really a good all around player. Trading him now coming off his injuries I think may be selling low as well. Got to give him a shot to see what he can do. Three of our better oungsters are all coming off injuries. Greene,Senzel and Winker. Need them healthy and producing.
