Harang had a nice outing tonight against an Astros team that had won its last 8 of 10.

Reds go for a 3 game win streak tomorrow night. Awesome.

The pitching is not going to be as bad as we've seen thus far. Especially out of our starters. The hitting is going to be like last year it seems. Very streaky. But, we may be able to put a run together based on our starting pitching alone.

Anybody else tired of watching Johnny Gomes hit? He swings out of his shoes every pitch. This team needs a Barry Larkin in it's line-up (and as a hitting or bench coach). We don't have smart hitters, other than Rolen. Votto is getting there, Phillips can do it but doesn't want to. He wants to hit home runs like everybody else. I hate watching them hit lazy fly balls one after another. Get on base, make contact and move runners over.

Watching the Reds is painful. They need more of everything. They might actually employ every professional hitting instructor before I die.

I tweeted about this, and I'll say it again.

If the Reds wonder why the ballpark is empty, it's because Dusty makes bonehead managerial moves, and the players (nope, not you Brandon Phillips) either don't hustle, or make mental errors kids in HS would be embarrassed about. It's rediculous to see highly paid athletes (or anyone earning high dollars) to phone in their work.
Where's the pride, or sense of duty?

I agree. This team is so frustrating to watch at times. The players are not held accountable and neither are the coaches. This team strikes out more than any player I can remember. On top of that, they fail to move runners over or manufacture runs on a consistent basis.

Ok, I came across this twitter account: http://twitter.com/suckitotherteam

This guys motto is: We tweet live during Cincinnati Reds games and tell whoever they are playing to suck it. Win or lose, Suck it other team.

I think it is a comedian who does this and some of them are pretty good.

Here are a couple of my recent favorites:

1. Jason LaRue's mustache has a "no fat chicks" tattoo.
2. the hill in center field in Minute Maid Park should have a headstone on it for the Astros season
3. On the day Jason LaRue's mustache was born it was raining coors light.

From Suckitotherteam (twitter):

Bears attack their trainers because their trainers are Cubs fans. That is just a fact. Google it... We will be back tonight. Suck it Cubs.

I turned it off after the three run shot. Can't give up 10 runs, guys.

One of the better ones from tonight...

Carlos Silvia is so fat that he doesn't sweat, his skin cries. P.S. Suck it. Sincerely, Micha Owings

Nice 3 run shot for Votto to win on Sunday, and take the series from the Cubbies.

In other news....

The News Tribune
So why didn't Wakamatsu go to Junior off the bench?
"He was asleep in the clubhouse," one player said. "He'd gone back about the fifth inning to get a jacket and didn't come back. I went back in about the seventh inning---and he was in his chair, sound asleep."

partingscott Sure looks like Gomes caught the plate before the tag #Reds /Pirates

Darn straight he was safe, by a fairly large margin to boot.

Reds win today 5-0. Homer Bailey threw a complete game shutout, the second one in a row for the Reds, first time in over 20 years. Isn't that 5 games the Reds have won in a row? I know it was only the Pirates, but still..excellent job by the Reds. Nice to see Homer do something well.

When I saw they played the Cubs, Pirates, then the Cards, I wanted a 5-4 record. Now, sitting at 5-1, with the 1st place Cards, I'm not satisfied. Taking 1 isn't going to help them, but is asking for them to go 7-2 asking too much?

I say win the series, as the Reds are due for some pitching and hitting. The play in the field shouldn't always match our low expectations.
