Hearing Cincinnati redshirt F Shaquille Thomas has looked promising in workouts and practices. Should be a contributor in 2012-13.

Thomas is going to be an incredible player here.
His athleticism and handle are crazy, just needs the weight and outside shooting consistancy and you're looking at a potential 1st rounder imo.

Good bloodlines and superior athlete.

Does he come from a basketball family? I was unaware

Just from talking to managers and some players, I have heard the same though that Shaq is tearing it up...Will be a great swingman for us next year and his height will fit perfectly if we decide to continue with the 4 guard

I have to ask......what are you basing this opinion off of? We have yet to see this kid play a single college game let alone any real competitive game (unless you attended his high school games or something).

Somehow you've got him pegged as a future 1st round NBA'er? I hope you're right but how can you make such a baseless claim? It's not like the kid was a top 10 recruit or even an McDonald's All American.

Sorry but comments like this really irritate me.

seriously, you get that upset over someone saying a player is a POTENTIAL first rounder. you need some thicker skin.

I liked what I saw out of Thomas this summer. He was fearless around the basket and had a knack for finishing. Something we haven't seen around here in a while. He can jump out of the gym. Obviously needs more size and a more all around game, but I'm excited to see him on the court.

David what summer ball are you referring to out of curiosity?

First of all, before you go off on a tirade, you may want to consider the following:

1. He did play early on at deveroes, he can be seen practicing with the team this semester and his highschool highlights are all over the damn place.
2. When you look at him from the perspective of lateral quickness and his ability to out jump people, as well as his confidence tearing to the basket, he reminds you of many great NBA forwards.
3. He's 6'7 handles the ball like a point, has tremendous athleticism and if he adds a 3 point shot, how wouldn't he be a likely 1st round pick?

I said he has the potential, based on all of what I know about him as a player. I think it's fairly obvious, he's one of the best incoming wings we've had, in a long, long time.

If you take issue with that, then I really can't help you, as you're likely looking to argue for argument's sake.
