Never thought I would say this, but our defense is the problem so far. We actually look pretty good on offense outside of SK missing his 3's. The past few games I'm seeing a lot more ball movement, backdoor cuts, and attempts to get the ball inside with the pass and dribble drive. The offense is fluid, but the defense is lackadaisical. Mick will correct at halftime and I think we go on a run in the 2nd half.

Rutgers has 10 offensive rebounds with over 11 minutes left to play. They've shot 11 more shots than UC.

Idk if it's me but this doesn't seem like this is the same team that beat Memphis, I heard on the Mick Cronin radio show they Havnt been practicing as hard because they were worried about injuries. Maybe there lack of effort has something to do with that.

I told everyone Rutgers is more talented than an 8-7 record. That said UC is getting outhustled.

Four double figure scorers and Rubles with 10 boards. Sanders with 9 points. They didn't play well and won by 20. Got to love it.

Very pleased with the way this team is coming together.

Caupain is now the 3rd-best player on the team, and is a legitimate 3rd scoring option along with JJ and Kilpatrick.

Sanders, Thomas, and Johnson will vary from game to game with what they give you on offense, but with 3 consistent options on offense, we don't need all 3 of them to score every game. We can almost guarantee one of the three will have a good offensive game every night.

Rubles continues to stuff stat sheets and play great defense. Guyn played poorly today, but it's still good to have an athlete like him to harass people on defense.

Cronin and staff were very smart to utilize Nyarsuk with the zone. Glad we have found a use for him and feel good about when we have to use him. Regardless of when Lawrence comes back (hopefully soon), it's good to know we now have some depth inside.

I think with the depth issues right now you almost have to run some zone. I am one who believes Mick Cronin's strength is game planning. Him and the staff do a very good job with preparation.

Rutgers may have equal or even more talent than Cincinnati. The biggest differences in these two programs? Culture and toughness.

Sorry, but that was as ugly a W as we've had - in spite of the final score. There were occasional moments of good team play, but too much slop in the overall synopsis.
I like the fact that Cronin went to the zone when Nyarsuk was in. He's long and is able to keep his arms up perpetually. That's not easy to do. Try it sometime. He's still an offensive liability with his greased hands, but let him stand in the paint and take swats at the ball. He got one bad call against him on a pure block, but there were suspect calls vs each team.
TC is a step slow on D, but he's a step ahead on O. How is that? I like the way he runs the fast break.
Guyn is still a mystery. He's a great defender, a good ball handler, but doesn't seem to know what to do otherwise. Thus his stats are all 0's.
Good thing Shag and SK can shoot FT's. That was where the 20 pt differential came from especially with SK continuing to be cold as ice from 3 and a sloppy ball handler.
I like the team's hustle, but other than TC, who's going to pick up the scoring load?
For the first time, late in the game, Cronin had both TC and GG on the floor together. I thought that was good for D, but it didn't stimulate the O.
And, turns out, TC s not the FT shooter everyone lauded him as being. Only KJ has been consistent at the line (of the freshmen).
