Was very encouraged by the play of Clark. Was very patient didn't force things and made two very nice interior passes to Ellis that unfortunitely the big guy was not able to convert. Clark seems to know the game..

Moore will certainly shoot the ball. He is exactly what you expect from a kid from NY. He feels he can score the ball every time he touches it. If he works hard on the defensive end we will have a star at end of his career.

i understand. Just relaying some info mick mentioned in his post game.

Jeff was really disappointed in Shaq. He and Sanders were invisible.

I love the ideal of Shaq and what he could add to this team but mentally he just doesn't seem to have grown much. He needs to be agressive, not over penetrate and learn when to pull up, raise up and shoot. He should also be a better offensive rebounder with his athleticism, but much of that is understanding positioning when the ball is in the air and again mentally he just doesn't seem to have grown much in his understanding of the game. In my opinion if Shaq isn't going to step up you make a change early. I'm not saying you bring him off the bench after one game, just that this is a young team with many new parts, and the earlier you get the pieces in place the faster they'll gel.

jeff after 3+ years in program I have to wonder what he brings to program. I mean on occasion he'll give you that wow factor but that doesn't help you win games if it only happens once in a great while. Mick mentioned in his post game that both he and Sanders gave up uncontested 3's to the one guy in scouting report they wres told not to leave. I know a guy making a jumper is going to happen but two of your upper class men can't make that mistake. It sets a tone for rest of team. Its time the young man fish or cuts bait.

Very impressed with Moore and Ellis. Was glad to Clark come out in the second half a look to score. I love how Moore being a freshman is looking to score when he gets the ball in his hands. Also liked the way GG played. He is a much better player at the 2. Shaq, I'm done expecting anything consistent out of him, ever.

I just can't understand Shaq and Sanders scoring 0 points. I'd love to look at us scoring 52 with it being all the veterans scoring, so we're just looking for contributions from the new guys as they get adjusted...but it was the exact opposite. That concerns me greatly. Bc what happens when Ellis gets in foul trouble? Or Clark and Moore combine for 9, not 19?

Maybe in a weird way it is an easier adjustment for the new guys. Everyone else is so used to playing with SK, they have no idea how to find their individual game. Guyn had a spurt early with a 3 at the end of the clock, a nice 2 at the rim, and forced an offensive foul on the press...but then nothing else the rest of the way. Last year we would have just been happy to have that contribution. But he doesn't seem to understand that he could've easily been on his way to a 12-15 point night. I don't want to overreact to 1 game, especially bc I was encouraged by the movement on offense...but if these guys can't do it in their 4th year (outside of a spurt here and there) against St. Francis, when can they do it?

I think Deberry will be fine backing up Ellis once he gets some games in and the guards get more confidence in getting ball down low and shooting from the outside. I was also impressed with Moore's game down low. Shaq and Sander will never carry this team. Troy, KJ and Ellis will be the 3 that carry the team if it needs to be carried. I know they struggled on offense this game against a week team, but they are so new to playing with each other, it will take some games to get the offense to gel. The defense was outstanding. The other players are going to have to learn that Ellis guarding the basket and to not foul and let him defend it. I really like this team going forward. I think, and hope, that Shaq and Sanders will take on lesser roles as the season goes on and the young guys get their confidence.

I'd rather have Morman in than Shaq or Sanders. At least if Morman scores 0, he will play hard and make a positive impact in other ways. Shaq just doesn't know how to be a good basketball player all the time. Mick says he isn't going to ask players to do things they cannot do, so maybe it is time to stop asking Shaq to start and contribute. Including the Bahamas, Shaq has had 1 good half in 4 games. Unfortunately, that is on par with the rest of his career.

Moorman needs more minutes.... Shaq sanders g need less minutes...

Not sure if this is something that anyone had thought about, but everybody played except for Strickland and Tobler, meaning there officially won't be any redshirting this year.

I listened post game on my way home. What he said was he was very happy with how the team played defense. He even mentioned how all coaches understand you win with defense. On offense the team had trouble delivering the ball to the post. They missed many open players because they were late passing the ball inside. I concurred with him. He also mentioned as with many young players when they miss a couple shots they become hesitant to shoot. He was encouraging them to put it up. He referenced how many shots Kobe and SK miss. Seems you only hear what you want to hear. If your embarrassed by your team winning you may want to find a new team.we have a very inexperienced roster. It will take time.

Ease up Waite. Your post was designed to start the usual pile-on comments from everyone else. Mick said exactly what I said. His comment was that a player gets his Mojo from playing defense, as if you're playing great offense, you can't find this same Mojo. I heard every one of his comments, but I only commented on the one, because it seemed to correlate with how I saw them playing. When it comes to me finding a new team,, I graduated from this school and I've been a season ticket holder since I was a young kid in 1961. I don't need condecending comments from someone who never went to the school and decided to become a fan at some point. I also didn't say I was embarrassed by the team. In the same way you accused me of hearing only what I wanted to hear of Mick'scomments, you evidently only heard what you wanted to hear of my comments. My first sentence said, I like this team a lot.". And, near the end I said, "But, I like this roster a lot." Never once did I say I was embarrassed by this team. What I said was that offensive performance was embarrassing against that team when we had a huge size advantage, and with the "Talent" we have!. Saying a performance is embarrassing is a long way from declaring I' m embarrassed by my team. You might want to quit trying to incite others with your comments and just stick with your feelings on the game. You see what you want to see, and I'll see what I want to see. And as I said in my post, there's a lot of talent on this team, and I like this roster a lot. If you somehow interpret those comments as me being embassassed with my team and therefore I should move on to another team, then you have some issues with how you interpret things I guess.

My comment was to let everyone know the context with which Mick made his defense comments. As I mentioned most coaches especially good ones emphasize defense. You somehow use this as a means to downgrade micks ability to coach. What is obvious to me is you don't know the game very well. Not trying to offend you,I think you care about the program but you
LAck basic basketball knowledge. See how easy that is to do. I sounded like I was being nice but I insulted the heck out of you. L-T the cats will lose a game soon enough and you can tell us all I told you so.
