Really impressed with him over the weekend, finally developing into the player we thought he would be. I think he has SK like scoring ability, but he is still trying to put it together. David also impressed at times and Titus started to show how good he can be. this team is heading in the right direction.

I think we are starting to see why Mick has been giving Sanders the PT early in the year. He was pretty efficient and made some big buckets against Oregon.

I've been big on Sanders since high school. Thought he'd be better quicker, but glad to see he is making strides.

Jeff he is not a flashy type but you can see he knows the game. I look for him to be a contributor as the season goes on. Thomas looked better in vegas as well. Both handle the rock fairly well. Throw rubles into that grouP and we have 3 players who will get nothing but better with pt.

Agree, the future is bright, Sanders is starting to show his consistency, but he doesn't have the flash or quickness I was hoping to see out of him. Not sure he'll ever be a star, but he will be solid/consistent.

One other note, if I ever see Titus take another 3 it will be too soon. I don't know if it's in his head or what, but the kid didn't even hit the rim I don't think on all the bricks he threw up there.

Sanders never was the fastest kid, I don't know why people just assumed that about him. He's good at basketball, that's it. Nothing wrong with that. Kid just knows how to play. Rubles can hit 3's. I don't know why he's been missing, if it's just the flow or lack of in this offense but I know he has the ability. Still, his strength is going to the basket. With his mid range game, he really doesn't need to try for 3's anyway. Rubles with his ability to dish and create, is a tremendous contribution to have.

Don't disagree with anything you said Nomadic, just don't want to see Titus keep throwing up those bricks, he shoots better off the dribble than a set 3. Definitely not his strong suit, I'd much rather see him dribble drive.

The knock on Shaq has been his defense/awareness on the defensive end. But in Vegas, he played extremely well. Even after the Campbell game, Mick said Shaq made some rotations he'd never seen him make before. It helps when you see the rest of your team getting after it on the defensive end. His length and quickness can really give opponents trouble. He even got us a couple extra possessions by crashing the boards on offense too.

I feel a lot more comfortable after seeing Sanders, Shaq, Titus, and Nyarsuk over the weekend against good competition. I'd still like to see Ge'Lawn get more comfortable, but it isn't like he is a liability. He's still great on defense and can knock down some shots.

When he was coming out of high school, based on some recruiting comments by experts saying he was a smart player that could score in various ways, I envisioned Sanders as being Kilpatrick Pt. 2. Neither are fast or extremely athletic. Both seem athletic enough but smart, natural b-ball players. The one difference I see in the two, other than college game experience, is that S K is simply more confident and more aggressive than Sanders is. I don't know if Sanders is trying to defer to the more experienced guys (Wright, S K, Parker) or if simply is timid.

But I see flashes here and there and hope he becomes more aggressive.

If he players like he did this weekend, he can contribute a lot to this team, for sure!

Everybody saw time over the weekend, except for Davis. I remember during the Iowa State game, the announcers mentioned Cronin said one guy just didn't get it. I really hope he doesn't leave, due to lack of playing time. :(

That would be bad, but on the bright side, we could grab a big man, say Lawrence, with that extra scholly. Would rather not see JD3 leave, but if something good were to come out of it....PS I don't think Gaines got any time either.

Wow. I didn't catch that comment from Cronin.

Sounds like JDIII is in the doghouse. I wonder if he guts it out and gets with the program, or takes the easy way out and transfers?

This may be the available scholarship that garners us Lawrence.

On the flipside, this team is guard heavy if S K returns for another year.

Guyn, S K, Sanders, Caupain, KJohnson, Morman.

But I liked what I saw from JDIII. I wonder what the problem is? Defense?

Truthfully, it may not even be Davis, they were just talking about Cronin scolding "one guy who just didn't get it" during the practice time they had before the tournament started. I just thought of it + his lack of time. It may simply be that, he's too buried by the depth. We do have a lot of 2 guards.

You also have to remember SK went to a prep school for a 5th year and also redshirted. If Sanders went that route, he'd just now be redshirting this year. Can you imagine Jermaine playing next year as a freshman?

Don't forget, these were the same announcers debating if Cash "said something" in the Oregon game when he clearly came out of the game at the end of the first half with his shoulder hanging at his side. Can't trust a word any of those announcers said during that tourney.

That was definitely bush league. Announcers should know better than to slander someone without any knowledge whatsoever of the situation. IMO they should get fined for something like that.

Absolutely. And I was appalled that Gottleib was the one actually making a bit of sense even though his conviction left something to be desired. I think those tools spent more time bullshitting than calling that game. Ridiculous. In fact. I may write an email to the folks at CBS Sports expressing my extreme disappointment.

I understand he is not great at 3's but if you don't let him shoot once in a while out there you take away what I think is his most impressive move. The 3 pt shot fake and drive to the hole. It's the best shot fake I can remember from a Bearcat in a long time.

I agree with others that Sanders (who I was critical of) has shown great improvement and assertiveness over the last couple of games. Thomas is starting to blossom...I was critical of him too. At this point I can't think of any player on the roster who I wouldn't be comfortable with in the game for 10 minutes if necessary.

That's a good thing! We are rebounding like crazy from ALL positions except the PG. We are really hustling on D. Our 5's and 4's can block shots. We looked bad at times during the Oregon game but we just need the players to know their limitations. We have too many turnovers when trying to get too cute with the ball. Watch Parker...he doesn't need any fancy dribbling to get to the hole and score. Power dribble, maybe one spin move, and either 2 pts or a foul.

Jackson has to slow down on offense. I guess that's about it:)

Here's the future: Thomas, Sanders, Rubles, GG, Davis, Gaines, Nyarsuk, Jackson, Kilpatrick (maybe), + Johnson, Caupain, Mormon, Strickland.I don't mind that first 9 at all and love the editions.
