Sanders is going to be a key role player down the line. He however needs to be hidden on the defensive side of the ball. His long range shooting is his strength but he is not a capable ball handler. if he can be a charlotte esque type of shooter from the old days then he will help this team. other than spot up shooting from the 3 point shot i dont see him really adding a whole lot to this years team.
Shaq however will be a key part to this team challenging for the national and or big east title. as he gets more reps and starts to realize his spot on this team he will become alot better. he has to understand he is a role player this year. its hard for me to say but if he can become the darnell wilks of this team i will be really happy. His long term potential is tremendous and come his junior year this will probably be his team.

I pray that Thomas doesn't become the Darnell Wilks of this team.

If he can contribute his freshman year as much as Darnell did his senior year then it should all work out. He will be alot better than Darnell but is a role player this year. So for him to mimick Darnells stats will be considered a good contribution to this squad.

TBH I think his skill level is too high for that. It be nice if he had a more consistent shot but he seems to know his limitations. THis year, he'll be a role player. I think he'll start to excel as he gets comfortable. He was getting to the boards quite easily against Oregon. He's got a pretty good handle for a forward. He'll need to tack on some strength, get comfortable and work on his jump shot. He does those things, he should have a solid career.

One year of experience, improved jump shot and defense, and a few extra pounds-If he does this, he should start being a solid contributor next year.

Personally I think Sanders can help on the boards and with his passing as well as with his shooting. He gave underrated minutes against Oregon. Thomas is a future star imo. More lift is all he needs on his shot.

Sanders will only get better. He plays smart, he knows how to position himself on the court. He's a good defender, smart rebounder, takes care of the ball and has a good shot. One thing he is not is flashy. Some fans can't look past that. I'd rather have a guy score 8 a game only taking 6-7 shots than a guy score 15 points while taking 20 shots a game. Sanders is the type of player who hides in the stat sheet but makes a team better. Basketball is a 5 on 5 game. All 5 pieces need to be effective, but not all 5 need to light up a stat sheet. And I think as an upperclassman he will show up more on the stat sheet.

I agree 100% with ya.
