He has taken a lot of heat recently, and some deserved; but I love that he has the maturity to get to the line and contribute in other ways. I love having him as our leader the next 3 months. He is far from perfect, but he has been a Bearcat staple and will leave as one of my all-time favorites.

The real reason for this post is to say that at his current pace, he will pass Steve Logan for second on the all-time scoring list at home against Memphis. Senior day anyone?

He is a very good player, not a good shooter. I think that is where people get confused. There is a reason why he is the top scorer in the league. I am happy for him, in his career he will have gone to 4 NCAA tournaments and made the all conference team 3 times. Great kid, great Bearcat.

Great shooter, no. Streaky shooter, yes.

absolutely. I have know complaint with Sean. Last year I think he forced some shots this year he is driving more and getting to foul line. He is just missing his 3's right now. They are not bad looks.

Ya I love sk, I admit he hasn't been making as many shots lately as he has in the past, but rarely when he takes a shot is it a bad shot. He is going to get his shot back and when he does watch out because this team is going to be very scary, no one is going to want to see us in the tourney.

Read an article on cnnsi by Seth Davis that essentially said Kilpatricks struggles will be the undoing of UC. He doesn't seem to think he will recover.

For the time being I would like to see SK taper it back a bit on the threes. Maybe 5 or so a game not 7, 8, or 10. If he can make 40% he can shoot 10. Right now he is a more effective weapon driving and getting to the line. Kid knows how to predict, create and handle contact.

Wide open 3's or late in the shot clock I am fine with. Other than that I would like to see him driving, passing, running off picks etc. I would also rather see TC running point most of the time and SK at the 2 with the possible exception of icing the game. I wouldn't mind seeing his minutes scaled back just a tad so we don't wear him out. He might be worn out already judging on outside shooting alone.

I'm sorry but that is a load of garbage, he is in a shooting slump, anyone who's played sports knows this happens. Something is going to click for him, it might be something as simple as balance, Idk but that is a ridiculous statement that guy made.

I agree.

His shooting percentages have steadily declined since his freshman year. Last year he only shot 39.8% overall and 30% from 3. At some point we need to quit referring to it as a slump. It is what it is. He's the one who needs to recognize the value in shooting closer to the basket and driving and drawing fouls, plus drawing the defense to him and making the nice pass for an assist......and quit standing outside the arc and throwing up bricks. Fortunately, some of the other players are improving behind the arc and they are picking up the slack. But, I don't expect SK to magically become a great shooter. It would be nice if he could at least get back to 30% from the 3-pt. line instead of the 10% that he's been shooting for a while.

SK leads the team in assists, second in steals and has more than twice as many made free throws as anyone else on the team. He is far more than a guy who stands outside the arc and throws up bricks. I agree its nice to see others contributing. Him drawing the other teams attention may have something to do with that. If he can find his stroke with all his other attributes you seem to over look in your post we will certainly be the better for it. Oh and we all know you think he is a nice kid.

Just telling it like it is Waite. I love SK, but his love of the 3 pt. shot is starting to get annoying. I haven't read the Seth Davis article, but evidently he is saying a lot of the same things. I'm not sure he is drawing the other team's attention out at the arc. Most of the ones I see him missing are pretty open. This is not about his other attributes. I was commenting on his shooting. When you've only made one 3-pointer or less in 8 of your last 10 games, and you're only a 30% shooter from out there anyway, then taking 8-10 of those as he has in his last couple games is excessive. We all know he has been much better at those other parts of his game, so he needs to do more of that. Outside of being 3-6 against NC St., he has shot poorly from three against every good team we have faced, so for some reason, he tightens up against those teams, or has too much adrenaline, or whatever. Our ace needs to shoot better than 41% overall because he takes more shots than anyone, so he should increase what he does effectively and decrease what he is not so good at.....and yes he is a great kid

As someone mentioned above, he is a streaky shooter. As long as he is open, I have no problem with him shooting. Last year he started to force shots because nobody else could really score while Cash was out, but this year, he just hasn't found his rhythm. Thankfully, Sanders and Caupain have both proven to be solid shooters to help alleviate some of the burden from SK as far as 3 point shooting goes.

Have know issue with him increasing what he does well and decreasing what he doesn't. Fact is if he doesn't pose the threat of knocking down the three he will be much easier to guard. See Rubles. If he is open I have no problem with him continuing to shoot threes. The encouraging thing is with him shooting poorly we are winning and playing some of our best basketball. Hopefully his accuracy will improve and the others will continue to elevate their games.

I generally agree that if he is open, I want him to shoot also. But, there comes a point when that should no longer apply and it is probably a lot sooner than 8 to 10 shots. It depends on who we are playing. In some games every missed shot is critical. When you've missed seven in a row, do something different. Find your shot against a weaker opponent.

Freshman year he shot 122 3's and made them at a .377 clip
Soph year he shot 245 3's and made them at a .376 clip
Last year he shot 267 3's and only hit .307 percen of the time
This season he's already shot 117 3's and is shooting .325 despite his recent slump.

It appears more is less with SK.

I would tend to agree with this, but using Rutgers as an example, he shot it 10 times from deep and at least half he was wide open and a few were with the shot clock expiring. I think there was one that I counted that I thought was a bad shot. So while 10 is too many, it doesn't paint the whole picture in this case. He did a very good job attacking the basket against Rutgers. Eventually he has to figure it out or cut down his shots but as of now I still want him to shoot it if he is open.
