New BCJ podcast is out and at the 1 hour mark they discuss the situation.

He was dropping some subtle hints about why both sides would remain quiet (lawyers) and they would be discussing either for cause/a buyout,

Which all makes sense.


Something bigger happened.

Maybe UC never spills the beans so John can be hired again. Maybe that’s apart of the negotiations. I dunno


But man, it is a real shame, because if the season ended (even on that sour note) and no one transfers then I would be pretty excited about who we can add in this offseason to compliment our young guys.


Now it’s exciting but in a completely different way.

If that were true and they have been negotiating this whole time I doubt he would be recruiting. Doesn’t add up. Also, if something bigger happened how are all the players and assistant coaches not letting anything slip.

Kids also want to protect their future. None of them came out right and bashed Brannen. They likely escalated it in the right way to the right guy and likely only make a stink if no action is taken.

I mean John has to actively be recruiting. He’s getting paid to do it and until he’s no longer the coach, he’s still the coach.


But we also have to think about the possibility of John also wanting a fresh start. I mean he walked on his kids. Maybe he’s not opposed to taking a reduced buy out, saving face and then going to Louisville as an assistant to try & reboot his career.


Who frickin knows, but we could be heading towards a Friday news dump. Would then allow JC to get to Indy and start finding his next coach



But again who knows,

Former players that transferred to UC that want get into coaching bashed the players. Two years ago they basically bashed UC for not selecting former player. They don’t give 2 sh$ts about Brannen. They knew what was up and trying take his job

MAW tweet. Does the mouth zipped emoji mean the players have heard something? If so, it should be leaking out soon. The 100 seems to indicate he is committed to staying at Cincinnati regardless of who is coach (or he knows Brannen is staying).

Who knows at this point, I'm hoping for a news drop today though. Everyone seems to be expecting Brannen to be gone and we even had a more national reporter tweet that he is hearing that Brannen is gone (then he deleted the tweet). If we are getting rid of him lets go, I'm tired of waiting.
