Not sure how miles Simon commentated that game with SMU's balls in his mouth for 40 minutes. Impressive

ESPN has the AAC tourney rights? Did they fork up the $29.99? I guess they want to hype the 3rd and deciding match in the AAC finals.

Got to find a way to get the ball inside when the 3's aren't falling. We failed to do that in the second half and couldn't figure out SMU's superb defense.

Troy and Jacob need to drive more, would have like to see more Cumberland taking the ball to the rim as well.

SMU played well, give them credit but we got out strategized badly in that second half.

It's a lot easier if Cronin wasn't telling them to slow down.

You look to pass in the backcourt and you look to shoot in the frontcourt. But this team has the same tired offense.

Can we all chip in for a $30 College Basketball Offense for Dummies book and send it to Cronin? I'll cover the shipping.

Not sure why this is acceptable to you guys. This is a collapse. This is catastrophic loss and potentially one that could submarine the entire season. Don't know if the team has the mental fortitude to recover but we'll see.

Lol put the gun down and step back from the ledge my friend.

Their defense killed us today, we have got to start working it inside. Clark and Washington have got to start playing like big men a little more. I'm not jumping ship like all these other "fans" this was a really hard game to win. I'm very disappointed in the way we lost though, caupain didn't show up at all, our offense was terrible in the second half, too much passing around the perimeter. Our team is still very good. All this talk about tourney time and this means we are gonna lose, get out of here. One bad game in the road against a very good team.

What are you talking about?

You're right, they need more penetration. I'm not sure troy or Jacob can take any of the smu guys off the dribble.

That was a hard game to watch. That 2nd half offensive performance was absolutely garbage. Passing the ball around the perimeter to force a three doesn't win games. No offensive movement, no cutting off the ball. looked like Cronin teams of old.

We shot the ball as well as we could've asked for in the first half and only came away with a tie score. The law of averages did not work in our favor in the second half as no one was able to step up on offense for us.

SMU held us to 11 points in the final 16:10. I hope we get a shot at revenge in East Hartford but as of now it'd be hard to deny that we did not lose to a better team today.

Incredibly disappointing.

I might have missed this info earlier in the thread but what is the tie breaker going to be if both teams win out?

And then despair set in.........total bummer....................
We will be better with Jennifer & Broome at point next year.
Hey you win some (15) you lose some. I would say we were unlucky in the second half but too many of our shots didn't even hit the rim plus you create your own luck. We will see them in the finals hopefully.

i share your disappointment. We had 12 turn overs in that game. Him and Kyle really were not on there game today. TC didn't make any shots and Kyle forced a bunch.

I'll take the bad with the good with Washington. At least he tries to make things happen.

Troy Caupain should have to find his own transportation back to Cincinnati after that game. What a joke.

Does it feel like this team does everything slow on offense? Where are the hard cuts, the hard screens, crisp passes?

We've won all the games we should win, got to win the big games too. This team is good but I worry about March if 3's aren't falling. We're living way too much behind the arc right now.

Couldn't disagree more with this part. That's all Evans tries to do and he gets nowhere. In theory, I agree. But it doesn't work very well in practice.

I saw Cronin telling them to go a lot down the stretch. That criticism seems a little off the mark.

I'm not that sad to lose a game this late, I'm sorry we won 15 in a row, I'd be willing to bet we don't lose again in the regular season. And unlike a few people I think we still have a better team than SMU and if we play them again in the tourney I believe we will win. Only way we see them is in the championship game anyway, but that will be the most likely scenario. Even despite the no love from the committee at this point, I think if we win out and win our tourney we still get a 4 seed. Plenty of teams above us will lose a few more games and with a couple early exits from conference tourneys we should slide in (I hope). We are a very good team and a very disappointing second half on offense but the crowd was going and their defense was lockdown, we won't face that every day. As disappointing as caupain was, we've seen who he really is, this was a very uncharacteristic night for him. Hopefully this will jump start him for the rest of the season.

Can't stand when people bash Washington for trying to make things happen. He needs to be a ball bog and shoot when our team becomes so passive
