Without a doubt. SF has 1 ball handler and we don't make them uncomfortable or create any turnovers. Its so sad how we let inferior teams force their style on us. As for making the tourney...we are a prime team to be on the bubble and be left out of the dance. I could easily see us losing these last two games because that's the type of team UC is this year. Lets face it, Marquette is playing unreal right now and they play THEIR style. Villanova will want to win BC its senior day and we beat them already. Not looking good for the timid bearkittens.

We played very passive today. You don't deserve to win when you only score 45 points. With that said, I hate when refs decide the outcome of the game. I didn't see a foul on that last shot. Guy dribbles into three players all with arms straight up. That is never called in that part of a game. Wasn't called for Cash on the other end. Then knowing they only blew the whistle four times on South Florida to give a silly reach in call when Dixon blew by the guy to not let us get our shot to get a shot to win the game. Ridiculous. But, like I said, they did nothing to deserve to win that game (South Florida didn't either) so you can't say a call cost you the game. Gates didn't show up at all today. Dixon didn't really either. Cash I'm assuming was hurt and that's why he was out as much as he was.

No need to overreact. Marquette is highly overrated. I think uc beats marquette and nova isn't good.

Leave it to bearcat Mick to make the ignorant comment of the thread. Yeah...Marquette is overrated only if you're over 6'3 under 200 lbs, have a beautiful wife and make a quarter of million for your yearly salary.

The players abandoned Micks gameplan for large chunks of the game.

I don't understand why they abandoned what has worked.

I don't understand why when we're missing shots we call that abandoning the gameplan. They've played the same gameplan all year, whether we've scored 45 or 101. We try to find an open shooter and shoot. On D we play aggressive and try to get steals and force bad shots. We shot horribly today, couldn't get the ball inside because Gates wasn't motivated to play today. That forces jump shots. When you can't hit a jump shot you're not going to win. Plain and simple. On D we did a good job, held them to 46 points, no complaints there.

Don't like how the refs literally called nothing the first half, then decided to call every reach and ticky tack foul in the second half. You have to be consistent both halves - it's unfair to the teams.

Backs are against the wall again and Wednesday night should be crazy at Fifth Third.

I don't understand how you don't pressure the ball fullcourt after Cash makes that shot to go up one with only a few seconds left. Instead UC allows the guy to dribble upcourt unabated. Yancy fouling with 2 seconds on the shot clock was unexcusable. Then on the walk to the bench prior to the foul shots Gates said to another player, "I didn't foul him.". You can't reach around a guys body and not get called. A senior should know that. You're right in front of the guy and he has to shoot a hurried shot. Make him earn the 2 points, get the rebound and they have to foul you.

As I said I was extremely worried about this game. Going on record right now that UC beats Marquette and South Florida will lose to WVU on Wednesday. This teams penchant for playing up or down to their competiton continues to amaze me.

How is my statement ignorant? You are being ridiculous and resort to petty personal attacks since you know your argument is weak.

South Florida plays Louisville on Wednesday.

Very frustrating and oddly officiated game today. Nobody shoots FT's in second half until USF shoots 4 with under a minute to go in game. I knew we were going to have tough time winning when Kilpatrick gets tackled at mid court, 4 ft. away from Hess and he didn't blow whistle. Another questionable call when touch foul called on our chance to get game winning shot off. Mike Decourcey didn't agree with foul call at end of game, stated USF player had no advantage gained.

With all of that said, Dixon Parker and Gates were 6-26. Dixon and Gates killed us today. Dixon shooting 3's early in shot clock, dribbling off foot, getting ball stolen multiple times didn't help. Gates was tough on glass last 7 mins but ineffective in paint entire game.

Agree that Marquette and Nova are a tall task. They are both beatable teams. Marquette will be especially tough. We can match up with them but need stronger play from our Seniors. If Yancy can play like he did against Louisville we can win. Nova at their place will be tough on their senior night. The thing is that Nova has no seniors that play regularly. It is definitely a winnable game. We already earned a first round bye in BEast tourney so lets just keep grinding out and we will be in tourney.

Mick was very upset that they let so much penetration into the lane, he said they were playing like it was against Louisville (who can hit three's) not USF (who cannot).

Wish I could share your optimism. I just don't think UC matches up very well against Marquette at all(not many teams do)

This team lose there men a lot when they pressure full court! IMO this team is not mentally there all the time! The seniors are descent but not great! Dixon doesn't always use athletic ability and settles for three's! Gates is who he is! He doesn't seem to play hard but he being doing this since High School! I really believe Shaq and the other recruits will be good!

It does not matter if South Florida loses another game, correct, because they have 11 wins in the Big East and are now in the NCAA Tourney?

No big east team with 11 wins had ever been left out of the ncaa tourney....then again no big east team has ever had 11 wins with an rpi in the high 70s

Beat marquette and were in.

Actually in south Florida's case I think they need one more win. UC is the closet thing they have as a good win. They have fed on bottom feeders. Beat WVU at home and it's a no brainer. UC has multiple wins over the rpi top 25 and top 50. USF can't boast that.

True but usf hasnt had quite the same number of bad losses we have had
