St Joe's

Jesus, I think Cincinnati is the only team that doesn't get mentioned or have a player get mentioned out of every region break down I've watched. Except when they say "after St. Joes gets past Cincinnati…". I hope like hell our guys come out and play like a giant middle finger to all these "experts". The late game time is really gonna screw with my drinking pace though. Lets go fellas!

Yeah I dont really know how to deal with that. I'm so used to our 1pm tourney games where Im alone drinking beer and can scream at the TV without being seen as crazy by other people. By 10 pm my nerves will already be frayed from all the other buzzer beaters I might be on the moonshine by tip off to deal with it.

Couple of sites are picking the cats, a few even giving us a good shot vs. Oregon. Didn't know this but Oregon are a terrible rebounding team, the best way to make up for being a less talented team is to get more possessions!

All you need to do is look how L-T just inserted his pathetic depressing attitude into this thread and thats what happens on every single one. Im done with it, lets get back to St. Joes.

Sorry, but it is incredibly depressing to be forced to play a very solid St.Joes team in the first round followed by a #1 seed. Last year with a younger and less experienced roster, we were an 8 seed playing a 9 seed, followed by a #1 seed. The year before that, we were a 5 seed. It's a deteriorating trend, which is especially sad considering it's happening as the roster gets older and more experienced. There's no excuse for finishing 4-5 in the pathetic AAC, getting bounced in the first round of the tournament, and now being stuck in a horrible spot in the NCAA bracket. If we take down St. Joes and roll thru Oregon into the sweet 16, then the ugliness of this season will be more palpable. Let's see if it happens. Even if it happens, most still were expecting a season where we finally advance past the sweet 16. It'll take a miracle for that to happen now.

We gotta be healthy to even hope to make a run. We need Clark and Evans to be 100%. Hopefully Thomas and Cobb can go.

hope your right Jake. I really think are strengths play well against St. Joe's. Gary, Ellis and DeBerry should have a considerable size advantage. I think they will pack the paint and try to make us beat them from the outside. if we can knock down a few shots we should be in good shape.

Agreed. Ellis might be the most important player in this game.

I think we can beat St. Joe's and Oregon, in one game we're capable of beating almost anyone. The problem is sustaining a run with our brand of basketball. Some pinpoint analysis from ESPN on UC's chances in the tourney. You can basically copy and paste the below for every single year we make the tourney past and future.

Best-case scenario: Sweet 16
Sure, the Bearcats play a suffocating brand of defense. But it's hard to imagine this sometimes scoring-challenged squad winning three times in the Big Dance.
