You're 100% mistaken. You're amongst your small crowd of Cronin lovers on this forum. If you walk the streets of Cincinnati and randomly ask 100 people if they like Mick Cronin, you won't get a yes response more than 5 times. Only once in Bearcat history had we had a 3 game losing treak to X before Mick got here. Mick has now done it twice by himself, and if he loses next year, he'll become the first ever to lose four in a row. I don't want to give him the chance to reach that accomplishment.

First, never said I loved Cronin. But I don't hate him. Second, I'm not mistaken I know PLENTY of season ticket holders, boosters and alumni and the fact is you get a mixed crowd. It's not as one sided as you claim. You make it sound that way because you always have an agenda. I will say it again this was the worst coaching job since Mick started. However to say every single hard core die hard Cincinnati basketball fan wants him gone is wrong.

Yeah yeah.

I get frustrated too. I don't think Cronin is perfect. But like NTS said, you don't fire a coach who makes the tournament every season. Why would we risk having some of these guys transfer out? Did you see Evans last night? Dude was a freshman. Clark all year? Dude was a sophomore. I'm very excited to see what a SR PG can do with this kind of supporting cast. I think we're much closer than you think.

I envy your optimism bud. I love Jacob Evans and Gary Clark. But that's the problem...Jacob Evans would have probably been on some freshamn All-American teams with a proficient offenseive minded coach. The kid is like a poor man Michael Jordan. He looked so neutered and restricted nearly all year. It was so frustrating watching him get mired in Cronin's ugly offensive scheme and coaching mentality. He was just waiting to go off but you could tell that would be very unbecoming of a "freshman" to show out like that. He hesitate so much this year this year because of Cronin. Better focus on more defelctions and defense! As soon as I saw that kid shoot I said my God he has the purest stroke of any Bearcat in a decade. And he's big and pretty athletic. But most importantly he is the only Bearcat who has offensice accumen and deftness, touch. A better coach would have turned Jacob loose and see what happens. Same with Gary. Gary was a dynamic player in high school. I love Gary but he has been turned into a plodding and one dimensional offensive threat. A damn good one at that, though.

We went from 62 ppg last year to over 73 this year. We actually lost in the tournament scoring 76. I've complained plenty about our "brand" of basketball, but there was a very noticeable improvement this year.

Do you think Uconn cares how many points they scored last year over this year or two years or whatever?? That's why Uconn is so successful. They only care about one thing
; winning when it matters!

They're incredibly more talented than us. We had 3 JUCOs in our top 7. We badly need a talent upgrade across the board. Can Mick get that done? I have no idea.

I do have an agenda. It's to make this a solid Top 10 or 20 program year in and year out. It's why I contribute a lot of money every year and attend every game each year. I love how the Cronin lovers always say that I have an agenda, as if they don't have their own agenda. My agenda is basketball excellence, something this coach is incapable of achieving. Period, end of story!

You do always have one.

1st- Jenifer should play all the time he's so great blah blah blah. Didn't get off the bench and sucked when he did. You were wrong.

2nd- Troy sucks blah blah blah. 1st team all AAC so many coaches who are much more qualified said otherwise. Wrong again.

3rd- Cronin should be fired blah blah blah

You pick something and harp on it, beat it into the ground until you are proven wrong or see it wont happen then on to something else. To say you never have an agenda is laughable. Every single person here wants excellence for UC basketball you aren't special for that.

I think he was a freshman adjusting to college basketball.

If you didn't see Clark's offensive game grow this year, then I just don't know what to say. You seem to be of the thought that he played with a sprained ankle all year. He did not. It was the final 2 games. Think back before that...you think Clark was one-dimensional? He is light years ahead of most Sophomore PF.

They're more talented because they can recruit and they have success to give hope to recruits. We have a bleeding eyeballs offense and no recent success to hang our hats on in addition to coaches that can't close the deal on any top recruits on their own. Whoopee....we finish 4th or 5th in our league and get chosen 6 straight years to lose in the first round of the NCAA. I'm sure recruits are knocking down our doors to get a piece of this basketball experience!

Yeah our building block guys are fine imo. We need better 4th-9th best players on the roster.

The audacity!

Our offense away from home wasn't good for most of the year. That was frustrating.

He just wants to be right. That's his only agenda. First he was wrong on Jenifer, then Troy sucking, this is the next thing for him to harp on that's all. Once he sees the coaching staff will stay the same ( we all know changes won't be made) he will find another player or position battle to stake his claim and beat it like a dead horse.

More excuses. We've beaten more talented Uconn teams with less talent. This year was much closer in terms of talent gap with them than ever before. They were playing 2 graduate transfers and no Walker's, Napier's, or Boatright's to speak of. They were down big for their standards this year .

What Mick turned Jenifer in to over the course of the season is part of why he needs to go. Troy is lucky he played in a weak league. His 30% shooting wouldn't cut it in most leagues. He was weak defensively as well. His assist to turnover ratio was good. But, in the clutch, he couldn't close out games and we lost. How did he do last night on the big stage? He's a nice player, but I've seen a ton of guards in this tournament, even on the low and mid majors, who I would take ahead of Troy. He's one of our best players and hopefully his senior season will be much better.

I'm extremely excited for this program under its leadership. Facilities are being upgraded, the talk of getting in a better conference is real and we have some very good pieces coming back with room to add more. No way I change coaches now. I feel we are at the end of a long struggle that has seen much progress along the way. No way I fire the guy who has put us in position to take the next step. Coach Cronin is also one of the most successful coaches under the age of 45. He is also 1 of 8 programs to make the dance 6 years running. He has earned the right to continue to take us farther. Get back to me in a couple of years and we can evaluate his performance. Right now he has earned the right to continue.

Yes. Gary can only score with his back to the basket. No face up game or jumper. He did hit an odd three there for a stretch of games, which was nice. Yes, his scoring increased but the way he scored didn't change. Gary could run the floor in high school and finish with authority. And finish around the rim. Hell, the kid had a triple double. Thats hard for a big man and I dont care if youre playing Little Sister's of the poor. Gary had very little lift in his legs early in season. Then regained some but never had the explosion I saw before. I think they put too much weight on him and tried to turn him into a this throwback type post player. I love Gary and his effort but his game has de-volved into this rugby-scrum, rick throwing. Just very little touch or deftness to his shot. Seems like a common theme with Cronin big men. No touch, can't finish around the rim consistently.

I'm also happy that all the AAC OGs will be out the door (Moore, Kennedy, DeCosey, some of the UConn scrubs who are all the same to me, and the Tulsa core). We will probably be picked to win the league.
