St Joe's

As a Mod don't you have the ability to make it better or less lame? Honest question, it's gotten into another BS pissing match between the Huggs years and the Mick years....AGAIN.

Well it is that time of year.

Well it is that time of year.

Not really, Huggs hasn't been here for a long time, appreciate all he did for our program, but since he's not our coach and hasn't been for a long time, I no longer give a shit. It's a tired, played out, senseless pointless debate. We play St. Joes all I'm worried about is how we beat them and advance, couldn't care less what West Virginia and Huggins do.

Lol, yea cuz that's a reasonable comparison. The state of the program when Cronin took over wasn't even comparable. If you think I believe Cronin is better than huggs you're high as a kite, but your 24/7 morning wood for our former coach won't let think rationally. I get it though.

Lmao. You were the dip shit who brought up the past, so who really has the wood?

The classic state of the program argument from the cronin homers. What about the state of the program now? 4th place finish in really a 3 bid league. One and done in the conference tourney. And a 9 seed in the worst year of college basketball, maybe ever.

Yea the state of the program is great...

This morning on Mike and Mike, Pitino said he is rooting for his friend Mick and the Bearcats but he thinks that St. Joe's is the sleeper of the tournament this year. He says they are athletic, play very hard on the defensive end, and can score in a variety of ways. I really hope we come prepared to play and can get an early lead. I don't want to be playing catch-up the entire game like we were against Harvard two years ago.

I think we will play well on Friday. I think we will start by feeding Gary quite a bit to try and get their 2 bigs in foul trouble and make them defend. I also think Troy will play very well and use his big game against UConn as momentum to have another 20+ point performance. I think UC wins 58-53.

Side note: I hate Pitino. I don't know how someone can have sex in a restaurant and then have this stripper story come out and still keep his job. He should not be coaching/leading/mentoring any young men.

St. Joes will certainly not be a cake walk. Need to be on top of our game.

Couldn't agree more with your comments on Pitino. He is the poster child for bad decisions. As a role model he is garbage.

FYI. Speaking in general here (not always)...the mods wait for posts to be reported and then vote on them based on the rules. We want members to decide for the most part where the right mixture is for this particular board. Everyone has a different view on what is offensive or annoying so as mods we don't want to necessarily impose our subjective opinions on the board.

The best thing to do ALWAYS is to report a post if you want something to be looked at. You will need to tell us which rule you feel is being violated...we do look at them all and vote on them. Writing a post about it in a thread isn't going to have the desired effect.

Not to be rude but every time I read this I feel like We are back in elementary school tattling to the teacher, some things never change

That's why it's your prerogative if you want to use the report feature or not. If it's not your style...then don't

I saw on ESPN article that St. Joe's turns the ball over only 13.5% and Cincinnati causes turnovers at a rate of 21.2% or something close.

This could really be the difference in the game. Does St. Joe's take care of the ball like they have been or does Cincy impose their will. If Cincy can turn St.Joe's over closer to 20% I think they win.

Deflections, deflections, deflections.

On the Yahoo Sports app you can pick the winner of every game. So far 2,116 people have made a pick, and 58% are taking Saint Joseph's.

Yes, that will be huge. We also need to continue taking care of the ball. We have been much better it seems of limiting our turnovers. St. Joes, like Memphis and UConn excel in transition and will capitalize on our mistakes. That needs to continue for us to be successful.

Of course soley because of the media. No one knows or can actually feel that much stronger. Same thing last year when the "experts" picked Purdue and then all the public did too. They only talked about Hammons matched up against Towns.

We knows it's going to be a close game. Hopefully we are able to close the game at the end along with catching a few breaks.

One of my buddies out here in KC has us losing to Duke in the Sweet 16. And he's very confident about it. I was happy to hear that someone who has no rooting interest has us making some noise.

While st joes doesn't turn the ball over they also are terrible at forcing TO.

I just don't want to see any unforced TO.

Also don't you guys feel the traveling calls have been reduced over the last 10-15 games? Last year it happened all year and carried over into big games this year

On the ESPN podcast, Seth Greenberg and Andy Katz both picked us.
