State of the team

I only heard bits and pieces but the two things that jumped out to me were:

1) Said that there isnt anything he can say about the UCONN game that wont get him fined or suspended.

2) Said he wants to add a big piece in recruiting to next year's team to go on a really deep run.

Hahaha That's awesome on both points! I wish I would have listened. Point #2 makes me really excited. Makes me feel like the coaches know they could have a special season next year too. So does that mean he isn't done recruiting for the 2015 class?!

Well they have one available because of Strickland and Mormon is still an unknown. So if they have two available sounds like he would want one that would have a major impact and then another that would be a transfer and sit out a year. Preferably a big guy.

He better not be done for 2015. Morman could mean 2 more scholarships are open with 4 more opening in 2016. We at least need 1 more guy for 2015.

Wait, can't be true?!?!? Mick doesn't recruit high risk guys but 2players that sat out year learning from greatest group of uc seniors of all time are no longer with program

Well, I remember those glory days, and they only lasted for 5 or 6 years, but those 5 or 6 years were phenominal. Huggs' run lasted 14 years, and we made the tournament 14 straight years, which at the time, there was only one single school ahead of us. We never reached the mountaintop, but we reached some pretty nice overlooks trying to get there. The end results didn't compare obviously, but the longevity of success was what was special with his period. Some of the players we got to watch are among the very best and most beloved Bearcats in history. Two different periods...but both pretty special.

I was a big Huggs fan, but a bigger UC fan. People don't realize that we used to be Duke in the college basketball world.

The state of the team is a little better on Friday March 20th. We used to hate the 2nd round of the NCAA. Could this be the year that our 2nd round demons are conquered?

I just hope the coaches, and the GM, aren't considering slowing the game down as our only way of defeating UK. Their defense is outstanding. If we go back to walking up the court and running shot clock, we may not get to 30. I say run, press, attack, and pray that our defensive intensity is off the charts for 40 minutes. Go for broke at this chance to make history.

But back to the subject of this thread. Happy to see the state of the team improving and looking for more!

Last night was a small bit of pay back for a few of these less enjoyable moments.

Oh my goodness was it ever Waite. I am a strong believer in Karma. For about 39 min and 10 seconds of last night's game I was wondering when it was going to come around in our favor for once. But then she showed her beautiful face. (not sure why I think Karma is a she but I do)

Cincinnati returns everyone of significance next season and adds a Top 100 recruit in 6-6 wing Jacob Evans. Should be Preseason Top 25.

We should have recruits who hate Kentucky for not recruiting them lining up after today

No doubt. On a side note, after today, I really think UK will get beat. I can't believe we kept it competitive honestly. If we would have played them in January or early February I would have thought we score less than 30 on them. Our effort was amazing. We had quite a few chances to stay within a few points. Missed too many open shots.
