I know already that I will be criticized for what I am about to say, but I'm done. After 25 years, I just can't take it anymore. Now when I go to games, it is like going to the dentist for a root canal. I am sick of the "you have to be tough' type talk. The name of the game is putting the ball in the basket, and for the life of me, these guys are playing basketball 12 months a year and cannot score. Someone will take my place gladly, I am sure. It just makes me sick!!:(

I can totally understand your frustration-this team is a big mess on so many levels-scoring and turnover(ball handling) the main culprits. I have been a fan for 40 years and alumnus (class of 1977). I will never leave Bearcat nation but I don't agree with telling you to not let the door hit you on the way out-you need time to recover until things turn around. Can't tell you how long that might be unfortunately. I am totally sick and disgusted. Mick has to be beside himself at home.

Nobody jump! The sky is not falling! The world is not ending! Look at Florida this year...they are 12-12 I think. Kentucky missed the tournament altogether a few years ago too. If this is as low as it gets for our program, we'll be OK in the long run. Something about it being dark before dawn (don't know that one)!

Quit bringing up other teams failures. You'll never hear Kentucky or Florida fans mention Cincinnati in comparison. We haven't won it all in over 50 yrs final four in 22. Girls play more organized and disciplined ball than our team

the sky is not falling u are correct. It is the same dark gloomy cloudy with occasional sunshine. This is the kind of basketball that we need to get used to with Cronin here. Everyone of his teams had been offensively challenged which makes for hard to watch basketball. Let's face it, that type of basketball does not attract high level talent. I will continue to watch and support his teams but it's the same old song year in year out.

This is a down year for us if you liked our team as much as you say you did you would know that. You'll be back when we get a 5 seed in the tournament next year. Are team is young and promising when young teams face adversity they grow. That's what's happening to them right now and they will get better from it.

I actually had a root canal done on Tuesday and it was much more enjoyable than watching that debacle yesterday. At the end of the day its just another bad loss. It was a season changer. But that's college basketball and typically it happens to almost every college team at some point. Hope you come down off the ledge.

A lot of college basketball teams are young every year, it's no excuse. There is a systematic offensive problem that seems to never be corrected. We bring in high school super scorers like clark, caupain, heck evan lance Stephenson... And when they get here all of a sudden they can't score? Stem problem.

This team is certainly frustrating. It is interesting that you talk of a 5 seed next year....low expectations.

It's tough to love through this season. But I knew this team would be up and down. They do have a very good chance at being very good next year and the year after. So, I'll wait and see what those seasons bring. They better deliver though.

As far as the style of basketball goes, it is a winning style so long as you can even be somewhat successful on the offense ends. It does REQUIRE that you turn the ball over very little and you create double digit turnovers. We are the reverse. They won't win that way. The lack of scoring is a huge problem. I thought we would be much better at this point. This program needs Gary Clark to be a beast going forward. I use to think Troy would be the guy that got this program to turn the corner, it's clear he is good but I have doubts about his ceiling now. I hope Gary takes full advantage of this opportunity.

Agree. If we can't make a good tourney run next year or the year after I will officially give up hope that Mick will do anything productive while he's hear. It's nice consistently making the tourney but at a certain point you have to expect more. As far as this year though, kinda had to expect an inconsistent team. Having Sanders and Shaq as your 2 most experienced players..... good kids and work hard but they aren't leaders.

We really need Troy to get back into pre-benching form, because for awhile he was really coming into his own and becoming the clear vocal leader of the team. Since his benching he looks like he's lost his confidence. And yes, the Gary we saw in the final 8 seconds where he didn't hesitate and took it strong to the rim and into his man...... that's the kind of play we need consistently from him as well. Not being frozen from indecision, just go out there and play hard and don't worry about mistakes. Also, glad Ellis had a good game but he may want to develop another post move or two

Caupain has averaged 8.2 ppg since the benching. He is 9.9 on the year I believe. Not that big of a difference. Honestly, the UConn game seems like a one time thing to me bc he was 8-9 FG that game.

Yea the Uconn game was definitely a rare occasion (as it would be for most players to shoot 8-9), but i was specifically referring to his performance throughout the month of January. Averaged 12 ppg, 2.0 assist/TO, 1.8 steals through January, then the benching happened and he's down to 8.8 ppg, a .92 assist/TO ratio, 0.8 steals a game....... besides that his body language seems different. He doesn't seem as vocal on the court and seems less confident. Might just be me who thinks that Troy seems different but the stats point to it too

I don't blame anyone who wants/needs to detach themselves from this team for a while. Sports are supposed to be entertaining. This team/program is brutal to watch. Even when we win it is stressful.

This program is under achieving, and has been for quite some time. Iam not just referring to Cronin either. Huggins last few years were just as painful and filled with disappointment, especially in the tournament.

Our fan base needs some relief. We need to see some success in Februry and March. Right now this program has zero buzz nationally and locally. Unfortunately, that makes it difficult to recruit. Right now our recruiting is mediocre and the results on the court are mediocre.

you don't fire a coach when your about to get one of best recruiting classes ever

Yeah you're right. I didn't remember his #s were that good the handful of games leading up to UConn.

If Troy would simply drive the basketball 6-12 times a game it would make such a difference. Not only would he score more, but it would open up lanes for cutters, free up open 3s, get the big men more scoring opportunities, and put the team in better position to rebound missed shots.

He's really the only guy capable of being on the ball, whether he's a true PG or not.
