“The opportunity for playing time doesn’t exist for Tavon at Iowa State,” his mentor and former AAU coach, Mike Moore, told SNY.tv. “The feeling amongst many people in the basketball circles is that Tavon is a dynamic point guard who has tremendous upside. It’s also felt that in the right situation, Tavon has the ability to dominate at the point guard position.

Interesting he still has his old coach and "mentor" doing the talking for him. And if he's so good, I'm sure Iowa State could find some playing time for him. Honestly if he were so highly regarded in basketball circles he probably would've gone somewhere better than Iowa State to begin with. I realize there are certain situations where players just don't fit with a program, but in my opinion a player that commits somewhere and then pouts about playing time is a me-first player and not a team guy. Also don't get the "I want to play more so I'm going to sit an entire year" thought process. I don't know, just my opinion. If Mick has interest and is not concerned by all this I would trust his opinion and welcome him as a Bearcat. He could slide right into the starting PG role after Cash graduates next year, assuming he's as good as his mentor advertises.
