Game ball goes to Caupain, but Kevin Johnson's hot shooting in the 2nd half definitely helped break the game open for us. Great to see all 5 starters offer significant contributions over the course of the game.

Yeah, those two got it going, especially KJ. Game changer. Also nice to see the ft's falling. Not sure where we would be the past couple games without that.

Man were they tough to put away. They shot lights out. We took every punch they had and landed two more of our own in the second half. 55 points in the second half. Clark had 8 dimes. Caupain looked like the POY candidate tonight. KJ was nails. Washington... Evans...Can't say enough about the toughness of our starting 5.

Agreed! We are playing tourney basketball. Good free throw shooting, limiting turnovers, and great defense. Except for the 3 bad passes against their press very clean game for us.

Great 2nd half for the Cats. It's never easy but that seems to be Temple. I hope they can win some games to get better. 36 points in the paint on 23 assists. Incredible.

Yah...15 assists from 2 guys is insane. I noticed they have been posting up Troy more and it's been working well for points and assists. Cronin talked about it pre game. I like it!

1st Half EYE TEST: FAIL

2nd Half EYE TEST: PASS

If Troy plays like that, we can make a deep run. If he returns to his cauPAINFUL ways, we lose in first round

Over 39.5 pts for UC in 2nd half was a pleasure. Im Rich Bitch! (Chapelle voice)

I missed this one, in a bar with no TVs, playing trivia. How about Troy Caupain, though? He takes a lot of guff for playing slow, but his rebounding and care of the basketball are so, so valuable.

Caupain leads this team in defensive rebounds with 93 - Washington has 92, Clark 75. He has 82 assists to just 25 turnovers - a ratio of better than 3:1. He creates possessions, and rarely destroys them. He might not be exciting, but he is certainly efficient.

Also, KJ got his 3-point percentage over 30% - 31.1. So now the five primary perimeter shooters are all at least decent, and Clark is the only guy with more than 2 attempts who is under 30%.

TC has to be one of the best rebounding PG's in the country. Next year will miss his rebounding from PG position, I know (hope) Broome will be good, just don't think he can rebound like that.

After listening to the Cronin pre game it sounds like getting the ball in the paint is going to be priority number 1 (after effort related things of course). I agree we miss way too many entry passes and that is what ends up making us a perimeter passing team. I think guys like Evans, Cumberland and Troy are the best at entry passes. We get stuck with KJ a lot (historically) because he's not very good at it...he's getting better.

We can't pass up opportunities to get the ball on the block. We often wait too long to look for the post up guy and the opportunity passes. We need guys who can see it before it happens. Hopefully a little emphasis on this will go a long way. It will open up shots on the perimeter as well. It wouldn't hurt to get some slashing going on too...but one step at a time.

Hi coach!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!You are the only person That know what I know! I Don't like A waterhead and would love to play you in a game of basketball for the money! Have you every played? I know its a blog but I would love to play you! Tomorrow! I know how to play!

The second half made me think the refs had money on the game. So many calls going Temple's way. Get that guy some glasses! I love that our team ground it out regardless. Chemistry is getting stronger every game.
I'm glad to see Washington playing strong again, was he playing injured there for a few weeks?

ill eat my words about KJ shooting 11 shots. But at the same time. We all know what KJ is good at, except sometimes he doesnt know. KJ is good shooter when he is set and gets the ball. He is not a good offensive player when he tries to create for himself or tries to get into the lane to create. Ideally thats what you want, to be able to get into the lane as a guard. He just doesnt have that in his game. Thats where he struggles and turns the ball over. At some point this year we need KJ to figure out and understand what he is good at on offense and stop trying to do what he struggles at. Does that make him 1 dimensional on the offensive end in a sense ? sure, but if you play the inside out game the way we did in the 2nd half, we will have a lot of opportunities at open shots.

Coach I agree with you to a extent but I don't think it is set shots as much as it is shooting shots in rhythm. He made a real nice pump fake last night and when the defender flew by him he stepped in and scored. He does have trouble finishing at the rim but his short pull up game has not been bad. He also makes FT's. I agree his handles are not the greatest. Working inside out helps him no doubt. He certainly is not someone who I want creating for himself. that is why I cringe every time TC or Evans give the ball up to him with the shot clock winding down.

Bingo. I will admit I like seeing JJ come in a push it a little more but Troy's rebounding is invaluable. When he decides to push the pace a bit, he is irreplaceable.

When the starters play that good, it's hard to give the bench minutes.. Feel bad for Scott and Jennifer, but some games will go like that. the whole team is on the same page and understands that. They all just want to win. Jennifer and Scott have their best years in front of them, and of course they have and will continue to have a positive impact in this season.

Temple was shooting lights out, a good thing we were. What a game. I knew spread was too high. It should have been around 9ish.

It's crazy how after the Marshall game we said we need to be 17-2 going into Crosstown. One person said they go into every game expecting to win but realistically it's hard to think we won't drop one playing on the road to Temple and Houston and home against SMU. I agreed and I think everyone else did, well gentlemen, I'd say we are going to be 17-2 with full confidence we won't have a slipup game against Tulane. I cant wait until Thursday. Only a week away.

What's the point of talking Shit about one of our best players? Making stupid nicknames to embarrass them, you're a terrible fan, just pathetic.

You watched the and right? He made a few non set shots off the dribble.
