With mick at the helm and this team playing this hard, it really isn't out of reality to believe that this team has a legit final four/national championship shot.

I an really really excited. They can beat anyone in the country if they play like that!!! They proved it tonight!!

Hope the hit their free throws on the way to winning that national championship....but they don't look like they will close out tough games very often with that kind of performance at the line.

But a great win.

I am just hoping that this team gets in the NCAA Tourney.. The 74 RPI number is worrisome.

Why do I get this idea that Ralph created BearcatMick to make himself sound like a normal fan?

Their RPI went from 82 to 74 overnight and they still have games against Top 50 RPI teams in USF and Marquette. Their RPI will be in the 60 range when it is all said and done.

I will say this again. There is no way a team that wins 11 games in this league gets left out of the NCAA. I just have a hard time believing that will happen. That said take care of business over the next week and it doesn't matter. Beat USF, Marquette and Nova and land that double bye.

I agree and I have been saying this all along. Throw in the stats that Lance McAllister put on his blog today:

Only 7 teams have more Top 25 RPI wins than UC (3)
6-Duke
5- Syracuse, Michigan St, Kentucky,
4-Kanasa, Ohio State, Notre Dame
3-Cincinnati, Michigan, Missouri, Georgetown, Temple, Indiana, Kansas St, New Mexico, Illinois, Tennessee
Others
Xavier 1, Louisville 2, West Virginia 1, Dayton 2

Only 15 teams have more Top 50 RPI wins than UC (5)
9-Kansas, Michigan St, Michigan
8-Notre Dame, Syracuse
7-Duke, Baylor, Georgetown, Ohio State
6-Missouri, Kentucky, North Carolina, Indiana, Louisville, UConn
5-Cincinnati, Purdue, Wisconsin, Kansas St, UNLV, Marquette
Others
Xavier 2, West Virginia 4, Dayton 3

How can this team not make the tourney with 11 conference wins? Their RPI isn't going to be that bad at the end of the year, Ralph. (Just thought I would answer Ralph's response before he posted it again)

FWIW, Joe Lunardi has UC as a 10 seed, playing in Louisville and playing OSU in round 2. XU is one of the last 4 in, is a 12 and in a play in game.

Go look at Kansas State's record for the 2006-2007 season, Bob Huggins one year as their head coach. 10-6 in the Big 12 and NIT. Bad RPI doomed them.

10-6 in that Big 12 was nothing to write home about. It is very similar to USF's Big East record. I believe they have 1 win vs a team with a winning Big East record. Not all Big East schedules are created equal. UC is 6-4 on the road and has 5 Top 50 wins and 3 Top 25 wins. Kansas St. wasn't close to that in that year you referenced.

11-7 is a lock as I have mentioned many times especially considering that win #11 would either be yet another road win which the committee loves or a win over what will be a top-10 team next week.

Plus, have you seen who is on the bubble recently? UC is far and away above those teams crap OOC sked or not.

I have been saying the same thing. I think when we see UC's seed on Selection Sunday we are all going to be saying that they weren't even close to being left out.

So you are saying if South Florida wins one more Big East game they are in the NCAA Tourney?
