We've moved to #19 in KenPom after Tulane last night.
AdjO at 57
AdjD at 4

I would have thought the offense might have ticked upward a little after last night. I'd like to see us get it back in the top 50. Obviously our defense is fine. Not much room for improvement there.

I think it's because if you look at our Kenpom SOS, the teams we played were much better at offense than defense. So it just doesn't weigh that heavy.

Hard to move up when we are just doing what we are supposed to in beating a bad team(s).

Also really dependent on what teams in front of you do. If we win this week, we will go into smu as a top 20 team.

I'm not even sure than if we swept the American, if we'd even get to be top 10. Not much respect for the conference this year and rightfully so I think

Exactly. Houston and SMU aren't even close to getting into the polls. I am sure the voters are waiting and expecting us to lose at Houston and kick us out.

thing is; the top 25 is pretty solid. Only 3 other teams got double digit votes who didn't get it and not many teams even got single digit votes.

The top 25 is pretty solid and the top 20 is full of really good teams. Like Wisconsin and Oregon and Xavier all started the season top 10 and are now in the top 20.. All really good teams but just shows how good the teams in the top 25 are. All the blue bloods are good at the same time too.

We should be able jump a team like St Mary's if we pull out wins against SMU and @Houston

Surprised smu hasn't gotten any votes yet. 12-3 overall have won 8 straight and that stretch has included a 15 point win over a good tcu team, a blow out win over Stanford, and a decent win at memphis. The should start getting votes next week if they win out this week.

Also good to see iowa st getting some votes again

If we beat Houston, we have really good chance to move up.

#21 Virgina Tech plays @NC State and @Florida State this week
#20 Purdue plays @Ohio State and Wisconsin
#19 St Mary's BYU and @San Francisco
#18 Butler Plays Villanova and then @Georgetown
#17 Zona Plays UTah and Colorado
#16 Xavier plays St Johns (go Johnnies!)

No way V Tech escapes unscathed. And some other chances for teams above us to lose.

We need this next win to make it 2 top 50 road wins and 4 top 100 away/neutral wins (@houston, @Temple, Penn State (Neutral) and @iowa State). Thats a solid way from home resume with more top 50 and 100 road chances left to play (#26 Smu, #74 UCF). But a real shame we dont get a chance to go to Memphis this year and try to steal a rare win there

I'm hoping X gets as high as possible before we play them. It would help win or lose.

Was just going to say that, them losing isn't worth us moving up one spot in the rankings. The better they are when we play them, win or lose, the better it is for us.

Got jumped in each poll, by two different ACC teams. ACC is the SEC of football, when a bad team beats a good team it can't be because the good team wasn't actually that good, has to be that the bad team was actually better. I thought for sure we would come in 20th in both polls today. Is what it is though, we will get our chances to move up

I have to to disagree only because of what it will mean about Xavier if they don't lose til they play us.

If Xavier wins out before playing us they will have beaten St Johns, @#1 Nova, @ #18 Butler and then #10 Creighton.

If they win all those games..... they are absolutely clicking and will probably have the best resume in the country and will probably be the #1 team in the country and it also means that Myles Davis returning is exactly what they needed and they will probably destroy us on our home floor.

Sure, I would love to beat a Xavier team that just beat Butler, Creighton, Villanova and St Johns. It would be great for us. That said, you can't just hope for them to win without understanding what that means about Xavier. They will be extremely battle tested by the time they play us at Fifth Third win or lose. We on the other hand wont have plated a single top 25 team in that same stretch.

Xavier RPI isn't going to drop if they win 2 out of 4 so it will be a great win no matter that Xavier does.

Rankings aren't all that important when we play Eggs. I would love nothing more than to beat a top ranked Eggs in our house!!

They have a player who could finish his career never losing to uc. They clearly have a mental edge on us. I really don't want them coming into our house intimidating our players because of who they just beat.

I hate Xavier with all my heart. But they are kinda starting to own us. I just want to beat them. And I'd rather them not come in with 2 huge roads wins like that.

Like I don't care about rankings, but if they win all those games they will clearly be far and away 2 fold better then us. I'd rather not be embarrassed again.

Not sure if anyone has posted this yet, but bracketmatrix.com is back up. Looks like our average is the top 6-seed, in-between Wisconsin and St. Mary's.
