good to see kenpom has smu at 25 i feel they are a top 25 and also uc is getting screwed cause aac has no other team in top 25. we need smu to keep winning to help us and the conference. also good see houston in top 40

Looks like 20th in coaches poll right behind Xavier at 19. I hope those two are flip flopped in the AP.

Coaches Poll is out we are #20.
St. Mary's shouldn't even be ranked...

Disagree on St. Mary's. That Gonzaga game was closer than it looks. It was 58-52 with about 5 or 6 minutes left and Gonzaga just went nuts. St. Mary's is a good team. I think we would lose to them.

You're right, when you lose to a Sun Belt team and your best win is a squeaker on the road to Dayton, gotta be top 25! /s

I watched the Zags game. Foul trouble or not it didn't feel close after halftime. I think St. Mary's is an athletically inferior team that only plays good defense against garbage opponents. They also don't have enough scoring options to overcome bad shooting nights or foul trouble. We beat them 8 out of 10 in neutral court.

Bracket Matrix shows UC as a 6. I'd think a 3 is approachable, but that's probably the upper end, and then only with a strong finish. Lots of chances for bad losses and only a couple of notable wins left. The cats will have to prove their worth by quantity over quality.

So what do you think their seed will be if they win out (a real possibility).

29-2 Regular Season
31-2 With tourney win

You think a 31-2 team would get a 3 seed? That's a 1 seed most years even if you play ~150 SOS.

It takes 3 wins to win the tourney - so 32-2.

We would be roughly 15-2 against the top 100 if that were to play out. I think thats a 2 seed without much question.

A LOT has to happen though for that to be a reality. I would be thrilled with 31-3 or 30-4. Think they are both 3 seeds.

I'd be thrilled with that too, but I think that when the committee looks at a 32-2 UC they wouldn't seed them above a North Carolina or Florida State. I think the relative weakness of the American Conference keeps UC out of the top echelon of seeds this year. UConn struggling takes away 2 marquee wins - that really hurts.

I hate to say it but SMU might be playing the best basketball in our conference right now. They are only 4 spots behind us in Kenpom and we play them on the road. That's a tall order...if we lose we are essentially even with them in conference.

If we can get Evans to settle down and play like he can...we might still be able to win the conference.

32-2 won't happen, but if it would we'd easily be a 1 seed. Only way we wouldn't is if four other teams finished with 3 losses or less. I don't see that happening. The conference is down and maybe "weak" but our schedule is more than strong enough to get a 1 seed with what would more than likely be the best record in the country.

So you're telling me there's a chance? YAHHHH!!!!

We did beat SMU right. They might be playing good but not good enough to beat us. I think we are the class of the league until we lose.

Getting ahead of ourselves i think. Despite winning, havent played well. Still have X, @SMU, UCONN is playing better, plus we might get SMU again in the tourney. This all assuming we dont give one away. Realistically 4 or 5 losses, but hoping for only 2!

I think we were up 15 on them and damn near lost the game...On our turf. Damn good thing the game was 40 minutes and not 41.

SMU is good. So are we. I just feel they are playing better right now. We have played better on the whole.

I agree with what you're saying. We need them to slip up at UCF and at Houston. Winning at Moody won't be easy, but we've done it before.

I don't get where you guys are coming from in regards to SMU, we need them to play strong all year. We also need to beat them on their turf, we are quite capable. The team lost confidence at the end of the game, you could see it in their shot selection. I saw someone else say it recently, Coach needs to start telling the team that they belong where they are in the rankings. We are in the hunt for a good seed, and we have the best shooting team I've seen in distant memory. They need to start believing in themselves. I'm just thankful we had fouls to give. It was a terrific strategy.
