I mean you can say we're 31-3 and that makes us a 4 seed. But if we're living in a bubble. We're not though. For us to be a 4 seed, some one else has to completely collapse.

Kentucky is our best bet but we'd have to hope Florida stars does the same. We also need to hope a team like creighton doesn't catch fire and win our because they have the resume to steal our 4 seed bid.

We are in the drivers seat for a 5 seed. Maybe if a few teams crash we sneak in

The 5 seed is one of the worst draws in the tournament. They are snake bitten in round 1 (against the 12 seed) and theoretically will have to face the 1 seed even if things go well the first two games. Give me the 6 seed any day over the 5. The same goes for the 7-10 over the 8-9.

I would rather stay away from the 1 seed side of the bracket unless we can get a 4 seed and hope for the 1 seed to get knocked off before we play them.

The 6 seed has made the elite 8...14 times and the 5 seed 8 times since 1985. The 7-10 teams have made it 9 and 8 times. Those are the benefits of the 2-3 side of the bracket.

That being said the committee will probably stick us with the 5.

This may be counterintuitive, but as long as UC is mired in the 4/5 slot, I'd rather they get slotted as a 6 seed than a 4 or 5. Historically, the 12/13 teams are top-notch mid-major. One of those senior-laden teams that is just a tough out. The 11 seeds are usually bottom of the pack Power 5 teams. 9, 10 , 11 in the ACC, 5-6 in the Big East or Big 12. A team that gets in because of a tough schedule and a few big home wins. Once you get passed the first game, there isn't much difference between 2,3,4,5. Take the 3 seed and then have a matchup with the 2 seed in the Sweet 16 instead of the 1 seed. That's how the 2011-2012 made their Sweet 16 run. The 11 seed was Texas who finished 9-9 in the Big 12 that year. Obviously, the better the seed the better it is for program recognition, but if the goal is to make a run and a 3 seed is out of reach, I think a 6 might put them in better position to make that run.

IDK, 4-6 not a huge difference. I see what you're saying though. It would just be cool to have our highest seed under Cronin so it can prove to everyone that we are getting better. Top 4 seed is always good. You never know how anything will work out. Heck, you could play the 8/9 seed in the sweet 16 even. I would say getting a top 3 seed is almost an automatic you're in the second round. I know it's not 100% guaranteed but I would like our chances. I really hope we can win out and just see if a 3 seed is possible with help from other teams getting bounced around.

They good thing about this year: almost all mid majors aren't very good .

That said , that 12 or 13 team could also be an ACC team

I want the best seed we can possibly get. The whole thing is a crapshoot anyway so it's not likely we'd play what the "chalk" would suggest. And we're going to have to beat good teams no matter what if we want to advance into the 2nd weekend.

This isn't me being a troll, but where is nts, he's actually great with this end of the year stuff and usually does his own version of "bracketology ".... and I believe it was actually more accurate than most.

If your out there Nts I would enjoy reading your rundown on what you believe will happen.

I thought for sure it had been a month but just checked and he still has 2 days left on a ban.

The committee has shown they care more about wins than losses.

And if your in the ACC, they don't even have a such thing as bad losses

I think our best case scenario right now for our best seed potential is obviously to run the table. We can get two more top 50 Kenpom wins if we beat Houston and SMU (in the tourney). If SMU can run the table we will likely pick up a very solid win (actually 2) over a highly ranked opponent and SMU would not likely lose much ground in ranking by making the tourney finals. If we share the conference title and win the tourney and end up with 3 losses with 6 wins over top 50 teams...I would think that would be enough for a 4 seed with an outside chance at a 3.

If we can't get at least a 4 seed with that resume I would be very surprised.

Do I think we run the table? Not if we don't get improvement from our guards on the offensive side of the ball. If we keep playing like we have we will end up with 1 or possibly 2 more losses.

FREE NTS!!!!

I wonder how long he can last this time. He can't seem to make it through a full season of any sport without getting banned.

I wonder if he's decided that Fickell sucks yet.

At least the site is bearable half the year when he's gone.

Can't wait.

C'mon. That's a bit unnecessary.

I agree. We don't need to troll members coming off of a ban. They are welcome back once the ban is done. End of story. Trolling will likely get you banned as well so don't do it.

Agreed. Once he's served the ban, it's like nothing ever happened in my eyes.

Just stating facts.

To each his own.

A fact is something verifiable to anyone. The Bearcats are 22-3 so far this year...fact. This is flat out opinion and borderline trolling. Just sayin...
