Torian Graham 2014 JUCO SG

BearcatTalk

Help Support BearcatTalk:

You can't play fast tempo and turn the ball over at a high rate. That was a problem this past season and why tempo slowed.

If Cronin was as sold on Graham as everyone here seemingly is then there would be a commitment by now.

I wonder that also. Graham has been a favorite recruiting target of the forum but perhaps to the actual decision makers other options are more appealing at this time. Mick's brother didn't do anyone any favors tweeting awhile ago about getting one of the best juco players...or something along those lines. If I were Mick, I might ask him (his brother) to lay off that stuff.

he has a lot of interest in uc. that is not to say he ends up a bearcat, but i can assure you he has a whole lot of interest.

DP, changing your tune already?

As I said weeks ago, there are zero articles connecting Graham to UC, there is no interview where he states he is high on UC, only chatter on boards. There isn't a visit scheduled and signing period begins shortly.

Again, not sure why people are getting their hopes up. Just b/c some crystal ball marketing gimmick and some tweets people swear he is coming here. He never tweeted about UH and now he is visiting there.

I don't believe that Cronin would back off unless Graham told him he didn't want to come to UC. Cronin has stated multiple times that you can never have eoungh scoring.

A visit is very likely in the works. I believe Chad said the entire coaching staff has been on the road which is why the Esa Ahmad visit is this coming weekend.

Also there is this...

Matt Jones ‏@KySportsRadio 21m
Calipari on Dan Patrick commercial break says he thinks less than 5 UK players go to Draft

That could very well mean one or both of the Harrison twins are staying...which in turn probably takes UK out of pursuing Graham.

What are you talking about?

The comment you quoted was me saying that Graham has definite interest in UC when people questioned that.

The most recent comment was that the stuff isn't sold on Graham being great fit. That doesn't imply Graham doesn't have interest in UC.

Guys I know it is a slow period for Basketball fans but it seems we should all step back and calm down. Lots of arguing and insults flying around.

We have a coaching staff, who I'm sure is looking under every rock to find the right player to push this program to new heights. I understand everyone's anticipation but we must remember none of us have direct contact with the decision makers, players or staff. This makes everyone who post a speculator. It's nice to read and respond but should be done in a respectful manner. After all we are all Cat fans. Let's not trash the blog over something none of us have control over.

That said it seems to me we are targeting a wing and a PG. Lots of moving parts this off season with a high number of transfers and the fact we have two scholly's left to offer and a good young nucleus returning. I think every option is on the table. From getting a wing and a PG to pocketing a scholly and using it next year. We could go big if the right player was there but it isn't a priority. We could go for a JUCO or a 4 year player.

Complicating things further is all the conversation centered on the NBA possibly raising the age requirement to 20. My guess is the staff is going 100 Mph in about 10 different directions.

Good point Waite. Also, I think it is funny how quickly everyone (myself included) forgets sometimes that Mick and the staff keep all the recruiting so close to the vest that often, we don't really know what is going on until it becomes official. I am sure we will see something happen in the next week or so with recruits able to commit starting on Wednesday.

no problem Jason. I think we are all amped up after a nice season and want the Cats to take that next step. The waiting game is tough on the fans for sure.

what diamond in the rough are you speaking about? The only one I can think of that would fit that criteria would be Sanders. But he was a 4 star recruit who held offers from the majority of the big east with Nova in particular. So he really wasnt a diamond in the rough. He was a guy a lot of schools wanted.

It was too bad John Riek, Jason Henry and Alvin Mitchell never worked out. All 4 star star recruits. Dixon, Bishop, SK, Parker, Cash were all 3 star recruits who had pretty good careers in a bearcat Uniform.

graham tweeted he will make his announcement in a few weeks. Still with no UC visit I cant help but think we are out

cash, gates, lance, Henry, Mitchell, Reik weren't diamond in rough. Basically EVERY other Mick recruit was him trying find diamond in rough. In 8yrs 3 became diamond, Vaughn, SK and Jackson.

you have mid majors finding multiple diamonds every year

okay...But who are the diamond in the roughs you are referring to? And I think its different for mid majors in the same way SK did it. Get over looked in high school because there are certain parts of your game that are lacking. You use that as fire and by the time you reach your junior or senior year, and after all the work you put in tryin to prove people wrong good things happen. Most mid majors are a bunch of upperclassmen who have learned to work together more than anyone truly being a star. Upperclassmen who work together are tough to beat, regardless of what name is on your chest.

Ill admit it. After parkers freshmen and sophomore year I thought he was awful and was just wasting a scholly. He proved me wrong completely. If a kid wants it enough he will take advantage of everything given to him.

But I just dont agree with your, Mick trying to convince us a player is good stuff. Who did He try and convince us of that didnt have quality offers?
