Is it possible to bring in say Torian and Bryce who would be able to play immediately next year, and one of the other guys like Eron who would have to sit out a year first before being able to play? Bryce would be a senior and gone after next year then Eron would be a Junior playing his first year and it would be Torians Senior year. I guess that would be my dream situation if its even possible and run KJ at the point with Troy. Throw Morman in the group of 2's and 3's and we would be so solid. Tons of athletes and scoring threats.

Unfortunately that would still require 3 scholarships next year. Transfers are still on scholarship the year they sit out, if I recall correctly.

I was thinking that was probably how it was but one can dream haha. Either way I would love to have a combination of 2 of those 3 guys even if its only for a year or 2. I think having Torian and Bryce be able to play right away would be huge for us adding proven scorers. Bryce can fill it up. Would make losing SK be not as painful.

I will be the 1st one to say Guyn or Strickland could be the odd man out if Mick wants and gets 3 more.

Guyn, yes. Strickland, No. As long as there are no academic issues or Jamaree simply decides to quit he is not going anywhere. Period. The major downfall of Mick's teams the past two season has been the inability to get a low post presence. If you cant consistently score around the rim you hang your guards out to dry, become one dimensional and easy to defend. Mick gets a polished scorer in the low post and he sends him packing for a 5th year transfer? No No No No No No. Zero sense. Mark this down, unless Kenyon Martin is the 5th year transfer Jamaree will be suiting up for the bearcats next year and will be seeing the floor.

dude you listed out the 4 guys UC was recruiting, then said if they take 3 here is who will be "relieved" of his scholarship. Under no circumstances would 3 of those 4 come here together. Substitute whoever you want in for any of those guys mentioned- 3 of them aren't coming here together. It doesn't matter if it was the specific scenario you said or not. 3 of those 4 aren't happening. Not to mention you started fan speculation here about "who would have his scholarship pulled" which is ridiculous in and of itself.

It was in response to another post about not wanting to lose Strickland for a transfer. I was simply pointing out that fact Strickland is an unknown and transfers or 5th year guys are known commodities for the most part. You took it way to literal. I in no way believe we are going to sign 3 guys however it has been discussed among the coaching staff. I figured me putting IF and statements like for arguments sake would have lent itself to being a hypothetical post.

And about starting conversation about someone losing a scholarship didn't Mick himself refer to that possibility in a interview?

Couldn't agree more. Had he been eligible, Strickland would have seen minutes this year. I think there was a quote from Mick saying he was brought here to score. For a team the struggled at times on offense seems crazy to give up on a possible 4 year inside threat at a time where post players are hard to come by.

So a guy who starts every game as a junior is the odd man out? I'm not a big Guyn fan but Mick started him every single game. He obviously saw something in him. He isn't going anywhere unless for some odd reason his shoulder injury doesn't heal, and even then he probably wouldn't go anywhere.

Im not saying Guyn is the odd man out. Im not saying there is an odd man out. That was brought up by others. Guyn has vastly underachieved during his tenure in a bearcat uniform. He is not a true point guard. He doesnt shoot well enough to play the two. Most of the transfer options being looked at are at the guard position. Gelawn is now also coming off shoulder surgery. If a hypothetical situation was being discussed Guyn would be on the chopping block instead of Strickland absolutely. Next year on paper looks to be a transitional year. You wouldnt mortgage the future over a below average senior guard with no real position. I dont think Guyn is going anywhere. I dont think Jamaree is going anywhere. You have to make the move that is best for the program so if a situation arose hypothetically there is no doubt Guyn would be the more logical choice to see move on from the program.

I think we should bring in two people, NOT three. It would look bad for the program to release a kid for basically no reason.

So I'm not getting why it's a bad thing we have this conversation?

From my point of view it's not bad to discuss it but it needs to be handled tactfully. In this thread based on multiple people who seem in the know, there seems to exist a decent probability that Graham will be a Bearcat. Things can change but at this point in time it looks good. When the talk of current players leaving starts, it seems less factual and more speculation. If insider sources are saying Mick wants 3 guys and a current player is out or will transfer that would be one thing, but currently it seems more like people are guessing versus deducing from info that's out there.

when exactly did cronin publicly say a player could have his scholarship pulled? i need to see that quote if so. if said in the wrong context that is a recruiting pr death wish.
