Cincinnati: It's hard to say Cincinnati would have been in bubble trouble with a home loss to Connecticut on Saturday, but our eyebrows would have been ever so slightly raised. It would have been Cincinnati's fourth straight loss, after all, albeit to three solid-to-great (UConn, Notre Dame, Georgetown) Big East teams. The Bearcats held on for a five-point win over Kevin Ollie's scrappy guys, and there's little reason to raise eyebrows now.

Yeah, we finally caught a break getting a team at home without their #1 scorer. But a W looks like a W.

We were down one of our best shot blockers and defenders. That's sports. We beat Marquette without Cash. And for the record 5 of the 9 loses are at home.

Thank you for saying that. It's been weird seeing posts making excuses for why UCONN lost versus accepting that we won. It's the end of the season every team is dealing with issues. Let's celebrate a much needed win not make excuses for it.

Agreed. I will take any win right now. I am hoping to steal one at the ville. Think of it this way. We've given a lot away this year so maybe a little reverse Karma?

I think we still need to get one more win. The feeling around us making the tourney is good right now but we're also coming off a great win by the Cats on Saturday. If we lose to USF at home next Saturday and drop our first game in the Big East tourney the mood will be sour again. I'd like to think we're a "lock" at this point but I think I'd be sweating bullets come selection Sunday if we don't win another game.

One more win and I think it's fair to say that UC is a lock.

So are you saying we didn't catch a break by not having Napier play?

That's just a fact. Dunno why you'd be defensive.

As for the home record, are you saying playing at home isn;t an advantage either? Seriously, what is your point here. read again, just facts.

I was happy we were playing at home and Napier wasn't playing. Made the game more winnable than playing on the road with Napier playing IMO. And the fact is, as I already said, a W looks like a W, so it was a great opportunity to take advantage of and I'm glad they did.

Ummm...where exactly did I say that? Oh, that's right, I didn't you read what you wanted to read.

I wasn't responding to your comment but agreeing with and adding to what BCat Jeff wrote. I was speaking more in general terms not referencing your comment. Though I could see your confusion since it was a response to an already posted response from something you wrote. Anyway, no harm intended.

Fair enough. My mistake.
