An article on ESPN said UC has been the most disappointing team this year. It goes into how UC scheduled one of the easiest non conference schedules of the 6 Major conferences- they made it impossible to lose before the crosstown and yet they are 4-2. Well done, UC. Many fans in Cincy expected the crosstown to be a match up of two top 15 teams....little did they know how underwhelming this UC team actually is.

Uc has eight days to prepare for eggs.

Mick and the bearcats will be ready

Tu's stats last night against Butler. FGM-A 1-7 3PM-A 0-2 FTM-A 14-16.

14 of his 16 points came from the free throw line. What a pu$$y! These are High School JV Girl Stats.

In all seriousness, if we can keep him from the free throw line it will greatly increase our chances for a win because quite honestly, (and Eggsavier fans hate to admit it) the water fountain hater CAN'T SHOOT.

True, I once heard that if you could get 1.5 points for every shot you took, your having a good game. I don't know if it's true, but it sounded good.

Xavier has played 3 teams with a winning record (Vandy, IUPU, & Purdue) and UC has played 1 (Marshall) and one with an even record. Both have played Georgia and Miami. Xavier has 4 wins over teams with losing records and their overall opponents record is 28-29 vs. UC's 22-31. Not a huge difference. Take out Vandy and Purdue and X opponents are 14-24. All that aside you can throw everything out for this game.

In other words, the only team UC has played with a winning record they lost to.

UC gets 8 days to prepare--knowing how big of game this is to them. Xavier schedules another rival just three days before. Ho-hum.

As was stated earlier in this thread and is 100% true UC did not schedule this game. This game date and time was directed by ESPN and since this game is at Xavier it is technically up to them to schedule the game.

UC has exams this week, hence the fact that we aren't playing any games. So either it's up to ESPN or Xavier was smart or stupid(depending how you view it) when they scheduled the game.

Either way, your argument holds no water.

Kinda of obvious isn't it? It's also obvious that UC's schedule is backloaded and X's is frontloaded. What is lost and gained now will be evened out by the two conference schedules. Not that big of a deal to me. All I care about is the end of the season where a team stands. Lots of basketball left though I know you like to take shots at this program every step of the way.

With 2 new starters, 5 new guys and 2 early season injuries, I'd like to think fans would understand this team will be better later in the year. Everyone was jumping ship last season and the team was better at the end of the year. Let it play out and don't be so fair weather.

I'm pretty sure most were expecting this to be our best season yet under Mick. Hence the reason we started the season ranked in the Top 25. More and more excuses is all I hear. The funny thing about excuses is that when you win games you don't need them. Excuses are for losers.......

I'm one of Mick's biggest critics out there, but it doesn't make me fair weather(not that being called that would even offend me). If I was fair weather I wouldn't have renewed my season tix and I'd stop going to/watching the games. Not that I blame anyone who has done that, some people just don't have the desire to keep watching a crappy coach ruin an average team every year.

You are using an unfounded excuse yourself in your latest rant. Yet another baseless rant against mick.

You are so blindly hating on mick that its destroying your rationality

This is what I don't get. Crappy coach that has improved a program in shabbles, that had no recruiting for 2 years and has improved every single season. My expectations are sky high as they were last season but I'm not ready to call the season a bust after 7 games.

It is great to have expectations and we all should. It is another thing to look at reality. Most of you (I use that in a broad sense) don't consider facts. The facts are that half the team is gone from last season. The fact is they do have 2 new starters. The fact is that they lost their senior leadership and people are adjusting to new roles. The fact is less than a quarter of the season is completed. The fact is that 99% of their bench are freshmen (not UK freshmen). These aren't excuses they are facts.

I'm critical of the offense, effort and rebounding but to write the season off and condemn the head coach at this point is just silly. The same people did the same thing in the middle of last season and disappeared when the team came together. I expect the same this season.

Those are good reasons, but I don't care how many freshman are on the team. You still have Jackson, Gates, Cash, Dixon and Killa. You should not lose to Presbyterian!

The excuses I am looking at are not from you or other posters, they are from Mick. After the Lance Stevenson and Vaughn era it was this team will be better off offensively without them.

Then it was Killa is going to be the answer on offense. Well here it is year 6 for Mick and year 2 for Killa and we still see long scoring droughts and the inconsistency of hitting a jumper.

Not only offensively am I concerned, but this team plays with no heart. They are uninspired. Play with no motivation and when that is a team problem it falls on Mick

I condemned Mick after his 3rd season, when it became clear that he would never bring this program back to the level it had been at before. The simple argument here that seperates the "Mick haters" from the "Mick supporters" is expectations. Some people are okay with an improved record every year and one tourney bid. Going forward some would just be happy if we made the tourney every few years and never really competed for anything beyond a tourney spot. I am not one of those people.

I don't base my judgements of Mick on the beginning of this season, I base it on his entire body of work. He's not that great of a coach, he's just not. A great coach would already have us back to elite status, I can already give examples of places where things like that are going on.

PS - Any chance people can stop using the improved record every year defense to back up Mick? No $hit he has an improved record every year, he lost 19, 19, 14 and 16 in his first 4 years. He'd better have an improved record. Improving from 19 losses to 16 losses in 4 years IS NOT THAT GOOD. Is everyone that supports Mick taking crazy pills? Not to mention his record regressed from year 3 to year 4 basically throwing the entire argument out the window.

Ralph, you said last week that you don't care about making the tourney as long as we beat Xavier. I'm not the least bit concerned with what you think about the integrity of my opinions.

I have always said Mick is responsible for the bottom line and everything you said I feel the same about. I'm just not going to bitch and moan and talk about how bad things are till the season plays out and we see the final result.

Last season this coach got 26 wins from a team many on here said wouldn't win 15. I'm willing to see how he responds. He responded pretty well to adversity last season.

I think everyone is all over Mick on his coaching ability. But, we have to take a step back and remember Mick started as a film guy at UC. That doesn't exactly scream coaching back round. He is a recruiter, that is it. And as Ralph has shown- he doesn't even recruit shooters. What exactly did you guys expect when you hired Mick? Did anyone honestly think a decent recruiter could turn UC around?

Not to mention the guy turned his back on UC by leaving for one of the most hated rivals they have and going to Louisville. I don't think I would ever get over that. And you guys think Mick is at his dream job?
