Under 32% FG, under 17% 3's, under 57% free throws.

And the thing is, it's not one game.

Unless cash somehow magically gets healthy or someone else steps up big time, this team will have a very difficult time winning games.

I wished we would have played more 2-3 zone tonight though. They had so many floaters, hook shots and layups tonight and while we played zone, they didn't get an inside bucket.

True. We took them to >5 seconds on the shot clock a few times in the short period we played zone. Not sure why they stopped and why they took Jackson out for so long in the second half.

Agreed. People act like we are 10 games under. We are definitely not playing well but I can't stand the pessimism. All is not lost.

I can't stand all all this unwarrented optimism. You have some nerve calling people out for speaking the truth about the current status of this team. While you have your head up your arse thinking everything is unicorns and rainbows. You must not now basketball bc we aren't playing good basketball and haven't all month. No one is saying our season is over but there is obvious reason for concern. For you to ridicule other people for speaking how they feel about this team make your a certified d!ickhead. There is no way you can honestly say you feel confident about the remaining schedule.

No doubt that is true. Bring into question their basketball IQ and I dont think anybody would argue with you. I just adamantly disagree with those questioning effort.

They certainly are a stupid basketball team. And I don't consider spurts of playing hard to say a team always plays hard. Disappointed in the standing around they do.

I'll give you Mbodj, he played some good d and protected the basket, still made some dumb plays but that will happen from time to time.

I feel very confident going forward. Regular season means nothing and we only need to beat south Florida to nake the tourney. We have PLENTY of quality wins, have not been blown out, and most of our losses are by 1 or 2 points.

  • We are tied for 8th (9th with the tie breaker) in the Big East.
  • Three of five remaining games are on the road.
  • It's an overall non-impressive year for the "power conferences".
  • And the team is not making progress.

We are squarely on the bubble.

Thank God there is someone else who has the balls and brains to admit the truth. I think a lot of people are trying to play off this loss when in reality this was a prime opportunity to help our resume and it's not looking too hot right now.

He can't tell the difference between effort and execution.

Ok, standing around on offense is actually both a lack of execution and effort.

This team does not give consistent effort. And they certainly lack the bball iq to execute.

And in the Georgetown game I believe the effort wasn't consistent.

So you're saying all we have to do is beat USF to get in? You're silently admitting you don't have much confidence in the remaining schedule .

I am not saying you can not analyze the team and its current standing. Of course there are glaring issues with this basketball team. They simply dont have the talent to overcome many things. Obviously on the offensive end. Where I get annoyed with you is you think that calling them out makes you some sort of basketball rebel. You just bitch about how bad they suck constantly. They have 19 wins and are going to the dance. Yet you feel the need to say you want your money back for tonight's game before they even went on their run. It's f*cking tiresome. Analyze all you want but if all you ever have to say is just negative then just go to bed already.

We are 19-7 currently. We are 7-7 in our last 14 games. We have 5 games remaining (3 road, 2 home).

We'll have to win both home games (UConn, South Florida) and one road game (UConn, #12 Louisville, #21 Notre Dame). Doing so would make us 3-3 in our last 6 games, and 5-5 in our last 10 games.

Winning only two of the final 5 games would put us at 2-4 in the last 6, and 4-6 in the last 10. Those are TERRIBLE numbers going into Selection Sunday.

We are 2-4 against teams that were ranked top 25 when we played them. Also a bad sign.

So unless things improve soon we are clinging to life as a bubble team and probably needing a win in the tournament. The way I see it, we may need 3 wins between the remaining schedule and the tournament, if not 4.

.

This game was massive for us because it was our last home game against a ranked opponent.

Pretty much. 20 wins is about all you need coming out of the big east. I expect us to finish 3-2 though. Lose once to UCONN and again to ND. I also think we win at least 2 in the big east tourney.

If we put as much effort into driving the lane as we did perimeter passing and shooting 3's, we'd be a tougher team. But.............talk to Cronin. throw out Cash's 3 attempts and he's 3/6 shooting 50%. Kilpatrick, that's another story. He has the quickest release and is usually our best 3-shooter, just not of late. Sanders must make a lot of 3's in practice because he's been given the green light lately. Poor Shaq got in for a whole 2 minutes - again!. While Rubles may be decent defensively, he shouldn't touch the ball offensively. But, that being said, other than Parker, he's the only one who even attempts to drive the lane and draw fouls. Problem is he ALMOST NEVER gets to the rim, and when he does, he has no touch when it comes to putting it in the cylinder. That's really sad. He tries hard.
I've said it before and I'll say it again, give me a team of 5 Parkers! He plays like every game is his last game ever. Keep it up, JaQuon!!!
