If Cheikh can stay out of foul trouble I believe we have a very good team and I think we can play with anyone. However if he gets into early foul trouble we just don't have any big man what so ever. Jackson was rusty today, I'm glad he got to play and I think he can still contribute to our team, Rubles actually played well, But Cheikh is the key, he is the only one that can defend the rim and change shot selection from the other team, he had at least 5 blocks today.

Are subs are all playing with confidence! Which is very exciting to watch, if we can keep up the intensity and not get into foul trouble which is difficult to do both at the same time I think we can win.

My gut feeling says it will come down to the last possession, I hope shaq and rubles both play 20 mins and play crazy intense up in your face defense against otto porter Jr.

UC 58
Gtown 57

Much better match up than the 'Ville. G-town should be favorites, but they never really crush anyone, so if we can keep it close, we've got a decent shot.

I'm not going to pick but we look like we've mentally moved on from the disappointing season and are playing with a renewed enthusiasm. Seems like shots are falling too.

Cincinnati played really well early in the game at the Shoe, they just couldn't a shot or make a FT. I see the Hoyas pulling away late in a back and forth game:

Hoyas 60
Cats 54

I think we win this game. We should have beat them a month ago with how all their starters had foul trouble with 4 min. left. I am hoping we have learned from that game and they continue to attack the basket. GT is always a tough opponent but I am excited for this matchup. A great opportunity for us to make a statement and build off today's win. I'll say....

UC- 58
GT- 52

This game comes down to one thing: Can UC disrupt Georgetown's offense like they did Providence today? If so, UC wins this game. If Georgetown gets a bunch of back door layups, it will be a long game for the Cats.

Mbodj staying out of foul trouble is going to be HUGE. Our half-court defense is so much better with him on the floor. Although I think both will have a chance to contribute next year, I say continue leaving Nyarsuk and Gaines on the bench and go with Jackson backing up Mbodj at the five. I really like starting out the game all-out pressing like we did today. Keep everyone's legs fresh in the first half and rotate in/out every 3-4 minutes and press the hell out of them, then let your best players play out most of the 2nd half and hopefully find their groove offensively after all the easy opportunities they get in the 1st half off the press. I would like to see the minutes break down about like this:

kilpatrick 30
parker 30
wright 25
mbodj 25
rubles 20
jackson 20
thomas 20
sanders 15
guyn 15

Cash is obviously your point guard late in the game, but I really like what Guyn gives us defensively in the first half (if he can keep his hands off his man). LOVE seeing more of Shaq on the floor. Not sure if I'll ever be a huge fan of Sanders -- I don't think he does anything particularly well, but he's just good enough defensively to earn some minutes and Mick obviously seems to like him.

Actually, give Kilpatrick, Parker, and Wright a few more minutes and knock Sanders and Guyn down to around 10 and that would be perfect for me. Today was great aside from Guyn getting himself in foul trouble.

Two teams that struggle to score. Had the lead with 7 minutes to play in the first game and I thought we played horrendous defense on their best scorers. I don't see Porter, Starks, and Smith-Rivera going for 47 points on 14-28 shooting again.

One revenge game down. Let's make it two.

99% agree with everything you just said, I just think sanders is a solid player, he still needs to get laterally quicker, but he plays great defense and has a huge body for a guard. His shot is slow, but I don't mind whenever he shoots an open shot.

For comparison here were the minutes today:
Kilpatrick 35
Parker 32
Wright 29
Mbodj 29
Rubles 24
Thomas 19
Sanders 17
Jackson 14
Guyn 4
Epp 1

Early odds have Georgetown favored by 4.5.

That's fair. But of all the top teams in the big east, except maybe Marquette, I do like the matchup. I'm not sure we have enough to pull it out, but we should be in it so long as we don't turn the ball over too much.

I'd rather Guyn be too aggressive than not aggressive enough.

Better look again because combined they average 46% from the floor. We have to play them tight and NOT allow any backdoor layups like last time.

Exactly! he has to know his role, and that is to tire out the other team's point guard and harrass the crap out of him. Offensively not turn the ball over and shoot when your open.

I don't remember seeing Epp in the game today. Did Mick stick him in late? He wasn't on the floor at the end.
