I was unfortunate enough to catch the last 7 min of the game. A win is a win but my goodness, Im tired of watching guards dribble around the 3 pt line. Every year its the same thing. No flow to the offense and watch a 1 on 1 matchup like were in the streets of NY

With no scoring post player and guards out the wazzoo Id like to see this team run others out of the gym

Defensively they play hard but often that gets them in trouble as they over pursue and leave a guy wide open

Sounds like you are complaining just to complain.

Trust in Mick. It's only November and they are one of the best teams in the country. They will only get better

Headline on Cincinnati.com-Shawn (wow, that's bad) Kilpatrick's career high 32 tops UC scorers. Wow, someone needs a new editor!!!!!!

you do realize thats what they supposed to do in this offense and if you missed last year its working. we scored what 78 and rank number 2 in the entire nation in ppg. you can say cause we haven played anyone but no one has played anybody you for sure complaining to complain without a doubt

They went up by 18 then hit a drought(sp?) and watched it go back to single digits. The offense wasn't great tonight, things would have opened up more if we would have hit more shots and if Parker hadn't played like he was lost.
Still, win is a win. Looks like we might be playing Oregon rather than UNLV.

The problem is we play these dank ass teams and we get in bad habbits. Even when we put up big numbers look at the offense. Its easy to hit a wide open jump shot when no one is guarding you and youre relying on talent alone to win. You have to work the ball around and get good shots against real opponents. I dont see that. Live and die by the 3

exactly and we still scored 78.

Exactly what.... we stunk the 2nd half because of adjustments. Our adjustment was to dribble around the 3 pt line and do what offensively? Luckily we hit free throws or else we lose this game

Its early but I have not seen effective ball movement or screening away from the ball. Nor have I seen this uptempo game that Coach Cronin so verbally hyped up

oregan it is bummer

I know it sucks cause we were looking forward to playing UNLV at their place, but Oregon looks like they will be a good matchup. They have some playmakers and some experience, not to mention a good coach. We will have to rebound better to get a W, but if we do, that win would be impressive for the resumé come tournament time.

And I know we wanted to have Lawrence see UC/UNLV in person, but it can't hurt having them lose. Would be awesome for UC to win the trophy in primetime while he's visiting there.

So if they didn't hit ft's and lost you would have complained. They hit ft's and win and it's "Luckily we hit free throws or else we lose this game" Ft's are part of the game right? They matter and the players made 23-25 and that's clutch. It was the fifth game and Mick has said from the beginning of the season they are still figuring out how to put this offense together.

Cash needs to penetrate and create more. That would be my only caveat in this. Iowa St. is a good team guys and that was a good test passed. Nyarsuk and Rubles both came up big in the face of foul trouble for JJ and Cheikh. Fifteen points ten boards between them. Enjoy and move on. We have a good team that is only going to get better.

Nyarsuk and Rubles are new. Sanders, GG and Cheikh playing expanded roles. They will gel in time and another tough game tonight will help get them there win or lose.

I feel good about the W. The effort was more than there. We were great on steals. We hit our free throws. The D was good for the most part with a lot of steals. But at the same time, there is clear room for improvement. SK obviously played great dropping 32....but he didn't even shoot well from 3. Neither did the team as a whole.

Park Played terrible. Even Rubles who had 10 was bad from three and made some poor decisions. Cheik and Nyarsuk were good on D but missed some bunnies on O.

What I saw was a good team that didn't play close to its best battle through a tough opponent. We did it through D, scoring off TOs and hitting from the line. You can't be upset about that. If we shoot well last night, or Park is his usual self, it's a much more comfotable win.

I love it..great W. Room for improvement. Let's knock off Oregon.

The most impressive thing about this team is that even though they aren't firing on all cylinders yet, they still win. If we are this good and we reach our potential by late December/early January, I can't imagine how high our potential is. Last at this time, we lost to the Blue Hose and Marshall. This year, we could possibly have beaten Iowa State, Oregon, and Alabama. That is very impressive!

The obvious biggest weakness for this team is the low post. Need more rebounds and defensive dominance down there. I'm seeing too many easy low post buckets for the other team. I thought it would be harder than that for the other team with our trees down there.

Oh cmon Bjeff, you know every year it is frustrating to watch this team offensively and I dont see any difference this year.
